Whoever tags the mob for damage first, gets looting rights and experience (if any) from the kill.
If a higher level toon or toons assist in the kill, depending on their level in relation to the taggers level, they can steal some of the experience.

For both Classic Warcraft and Burning Crusade, the magic level was 9.
At lower levels, the magic number was actually higher then 9, but 9 quickly becomes the magic number and maintains being the magic number from a fairly early point.
As in, if you're 10th level and someone 19th level or lower assists you, in killing a mob you have already tagged, you receive full experience.
If the helper(s) are 20th or above, you receive a percentage of experience equivalent to the percentage of damage you (or your group) did.

I'd assume the 9 level differential is still in place for WotLK.
Once you're 71st, your 80's can do any percentage of damage to a mob, with the tagger getting full experience.
Even prior to 71st, quests will be dramatically faster with the mobs dropping so quickly.

The caveat is to not do this in instances, as in drop group and kill after it is tagged, and then regroup to avoid being booted.
Someone did this during the first day of WotLK and had their level reset to 70th shortly after dinging 80 (12 hours earlier then of the Warlock who had the pocket priest).

Hmm this was really what I was looking for. I guess I need to level my DK to 71 before I really can take advantage of boosting him quickly.

Anyone have a clever way to tag aoe groups with say... a rogue? My rogue hit 73 yesterday, I'm leveling him with a group of 3x mage 1x priest in tow and was getting close to 1.3 million XP/hr I hit 72-73 in like 1.5 hours or something rediculous at that onslaught camp by naxx. The problem is rogues are the only class I'm aware of with ZERO AoE abilities pre-80 and it is kind of a pain to individually tag each mob with a melee hit. I'm about ready to buy up all the E Z throw dynamite I can find just for tagging purposes.

Anyone have a better solution?

rogues with on AOE what are you talking about! it may be on a 2 min CD but just hit blade flurry then killing spree while in the middle of a group of mobs. if thats not rogue AOE i dunno then lol

Thats what like a max tag of 10 mobs on a CD cast. Not to mention it not only breaks follow but removes my rogue from my other toons /focus (ya, that blows btw). I've definitely done this more than once when i pull so many I know I'll die before I solo tag all of them but I was hoping for a reliable solution :thumbsup:

I ended up getting to 73 boosting. After my rested exp ran out I just quested. It's sooo fast and easy with just one! I used my team to "quest boost" so it was easy mode. He is 78 now 8)

I have been bored lately. I have all the badge loot I wanted ( could still use a few savage items ) But this patch is looong over due and content is old and boring. I might fire up my WAR acnts for a few months. or try Darkfall.

The onslaught camp is a really nice spot to aoe grind. There are 5 large camps close to each other. And like a previous post sugested, by the time you complete the 5th camp the 1st camp will have allready spawned.

The Venture Co. mobs by the Suntouch Pillar(or where ever) seemed alot more spread out and they didnt give too much more xp compared to the onslaughtcamp. Anyone else find a good ginding spot around lvl 76?

I tried the Suntouched Pillar place and it seemed slow respawn.

I like the Onslaught Camps in Dragonblight but during busy times the pulls get mess because of others there and the xp goes down.
