    Default Best way to to tell what programs/processes I have running that might be impeding my system causing soft lag?

    Pretty much as the title states, I just put 8 gigs of RAM in my comp and I still lose follow while my guys are flying, even in outland. I just don't get it.

    My comp seems to perform better after a reboot but for some reason it looks like my followers lag for a second and then recover.

    I've been boxing for 6 months now dealing with it but enough is enough. I only have this problem with Vista 64 and not on my XP system. I've done the regedit, assigned Core Affinity, set all the fps in keyclone, everything.....

    Watching it now almost seems like my followers movement is jerky instead of smooth, but alot of the times it is smooth so I don't get what is going on.

    cpu? graphics card? graphics memory?

    did you set the wow graphics detail to low? are shadows low?

    what is the size of your wow windows? are you using maximizer? if so, for each region, what is the in-game resolution (found just below the pip area)?

    Alright I'll try and narrow this down even further.

    CPU = Quad Core Q6700
    Graphics Card = ATI Radeon 4870 512MB
    RAM = 8 Gigs
    2X500GB SATA 7200RPM Harddrives

    I use two folders for WOW one for my main and one on my other drive for the 4 slaves. I have Symlinked the Cache and Data folder from the slaves to the main folder and use no addons whatsoever.

    As for my main graphic settings I have it all set to max and use a resolution of 1680X1050 on a 22' inch screen, Maximizer in keyclone is set to 1440X1050. As for my slaves they are set to the lowest graphic settings with nothing on just sound. They are split on a 17 inch monitor that the resolution is set 1280X1024 and in keyclone they are set to 640X512 split into 4 even boxes, but in the maximizer I have them set to 1440X1050.

    I've done the tcpackfrequency edit, so I'm not sure what else you would need me to list.

    I see you have a Paladin.

    Are you using Crusader Aura?

    IF YES = TURN IT OFF.

    IF NO = Not sure...
    I don't usually have a problem with it, but when it gets bad I do turn it off and it still happens (not as bad).

    Yes I have my CPU affinity set. Nothing else is running in the background. I even disable my Anti-virus etc when playing. Maxfps is set to 60 on and Maxfpsbk is set to 15.

    Its never the person that I am using that lags its the followers almost seem jerky.

    I'd love to say that its keyclone or a setting that is causing the problem but I think I am having the same type of problem described in the following post:

    http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...68277969&sid=1

    My problem isn't quite the same (As I don't get the FPS drop) however I do get the stutter but its not consistent at all. Sometimes its every 15 seconds other times its not for 5 mins. This is why I lose follow way more then I ever should.

    The only reason that I know its not anything related to boxing is because I get this "stutter" when soloing as well. Doesn't matter if my settings are low/high, game is windowed or maxed.

    I don't see any CPU spikes and the temperatures of CPU/Graphics Card, etc are all good

    does it normally happen when you first walk into a new area with loads of people?

    if so, it could be the system reading the data from the drives... and if you are stuttering, it may be related to the cache size on the disk
    (just a stab in the dark there)
