Default Boosting with RAF Questing or 2 Same-level toons?

I've read all the FAQ's and Wiki's I can find here and on vboxing and have decided to dual/multi-box once my current RaF expires (in a few days), however I need to get a Shammy up to 30 on the recruiter's account so I can grant it 31-60. There's currently a level 13 Shammy on it, so my question is: would it be quicker to:

    1. Start a new Shammy on the recruiter and on the recruit's accounts (same class to make setup easier since the RaF expires soon and I'm a noob)?

    2. Boost the 13 Shammy to 30 using the recruit account's toon (doing quests, the Shammy should still get the 3x XP from quest turn ins, if I understand correctly)?

I'm leaning toward '2.' right now since I have a quest guide and don't mind switching over to the second WoW to loot things for 17 levels. Plus that way I don't have to worry about buying and configuring KeyClone for the time being and I can just roll through things with the recruit, but I'd appreciate feedback from anyone else. :

The higher level character only gets 3x quest xp IF the quest is not grey to them. Also, you must be within 5 levels of the RAF's account to get 3x kill xp.

I would actually say that 13 levels is nothing worth sweating over, I personally would delete/remake the toon with a RAF account starting together, you can get to level 20 in an evening and level 30 with just a few more hours. but not using keyclone seriously slows down the process since only 1 toon will be doing the killing and ALT+Tab is slow (and i mean like Tandy kinda slow) to level and turn in quests. At the very least get TwoBoxToolkit addon, I get it from curse, but I am sure it's available elsewhere.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I was going to boost with the 60 warrior, so I wasn't worried about it not getting 3x xp. My understanding was/is that the lower level (boosted) toon will still get 3x xp, so it seemed like an easy way to roll through quests. I didn't have the time before RaF was over, however, because my fat ugly-succubus of a mother-in-law came to stay for a few days!
