Sounds to me likes it's YOU who haven't played a wide range of characters. Filling out a secondary spec for a character is pretty easy, to the point it takes about 60 seconds to redistribute your talents points once you cough up the Gold. The truly hard part is planning your talent build and learning how to play your new spec well, not to mention gearing up for it. Dual-spec eliminates none of those obstacles. The only thing it actually eliminates is the cost associated with constantly changing back and forth.Originally Posted by 'Dominian',index.php?page=Thread&postID=162698#pos t162698
The thing is, dual specs are more of a boon to some classes than others. Most straight DPS classes will be looking at a PvP/PvE set up for their respective specs. Enter the hybrids, such as Druids, Paladins, Shamans, etc. who not only have 3 potential PvE specs, but several PvP specs as well. As such, not only do hybrids see a larger cost in learning and gearing, they're still having to pay $$$ to hop around.
Bottom line, 50G isn't that much for one time talent switch. 100g to switch to and back starts to sting. It begins to add up if you're doing it several times a week and only just for long enough to fill a hole in a team/group.
