case mods

So I know that Chaosomega has posted before... but if we were to start making case mods, we are just wondering how many people would be interested.

I will post pictures up once we've started... we're only at the point of making up ideas and designs for different mods and such. Just wanted to get a feel for how the market was for mods. And since it's winter break that means we actually have time to actually (try to) make these case mods.

So basically I'm saying that if we were to make a nice looking case with interior LED lighting, special effects, a custom panel cut with an one of a kind design (promised not to be duplicated) how much would be considered too much for a mod, or too less? Aka, if you did purchase a case mod for say $70, would you be worried your mod wouldn't turn out to be adequate? (naturally prices would fluctuate depending on full tower cases, mid tower cases and how intricate the detail is).

it depends very much on the quality of the work. for example you can get custom front panels ot PCworld near me for 25 quid but the quality is terrible, bits fall of them as they are soldered weakly and everything is very rough and very... not good lol. however if someone was going to go all out and work out where cable tidy hooks need to go on the case, special holes for piping for cooling, intricate designs cut well and finished well then you could be looking into a lot for a decent case. it all depends on whether people think your time is worth their money.

Is 200$ for a glowing nicely crafted case too much?

If supplies come out to be around 60 or 80 dollars what is the fair charge (No PSU included, you install your stuff)

it may be easier if you had a sample of your craftsmanship to show people what you can do and what they can expect. make one first, post here with some prices and see if you can get some orders. that is what I would do. asking the way you do will usually get you false results, either very positive response with no orders, or no response.
