Thread: Gold farming

    Default Gold farming

Can anyone help me figure out the best method of making gold with my 5 accounts? I'm rolling with 5x deathknights.

I'm assuming dailies but meh their boring.

Run normal instances and de everything, sell the mats or enchants. Kill onyxia every week 160g I think plus enchanting mats. Go kill stuff in karahzan. Seen it soloed by 1 DK, 5 should make it easy mode.

Its called farming for a reason, there is no way to make it quick, fun, or easy.

I think the best way to make it the least painful is to break it up. Do dailies in icecrown sometimes, run some instances and sell the mats from DEing items (or make scrolls and sell them on the AH), play the AH game and buy low sell high, finish quests in zones you haven't completed yet, etc.

Well my team is only in the 30's so take this for what you will, but I started with almost no money on my team. At this point (lvl 33 now) I have bought all Netherweave bags for 4 Shamans (roughly 9g each) and I just bought 4 mounts at level 30 and my Shamans have all their spells(lvl 30 almost broke the bank...lol). I'm instance boosting so I loot everything and use the junk greens to DE and either raise Enchanting to sell the bigger shards. I have an auction toon with all Netherweave bags that are always full of stuff I'm selling that I've picked up from instances. I usually loot everything while instancing until my mains bags are full. At that point I just skip looting. At the end of the night all the junk greens go to my auction toon and all the shard stuff goes to my Enchanter. I just make sure the stuff I'm selling is the stuff with "good" stat combos. The other stuff gets sharded. At my level a good green goes for a couple gold which isn't a big deal. But you sell 40 greens and it add's up. I could just imagine what it's going to be like at level 60 and up. Throw in the occassional BoE blue item that goes for 25-40 gold and I'm not really having a problem with money. Getting ready to buy first guild bank tab as well. I'm really looking forward to hijacking the higher end bag market once my tailor gets up there in skill. The amount of cloth you get from instances is freakin insance. I'm waiting on level 35 because my tailor/enchanter cannot move up to the next skill level until then because of all the cloth I get and level up the skill so fast.

So yea...I'm just going to plan on all my money coming from the instances I do, since that is all I do. Being a DK team I hope you've gone back and raised a profession on at least one of them. I'm doing Inscription on mine. It sucks but lookup herb/mining guides and just spend a couple hours farming mats and it will pay off. As said earlier...it's called farming for a reason.

I'm finding that there are a decent amount of daily quests that can be completed with X just as easily as with one. Many of the quests you can get complete on all toons if they're just parked at the turn-in spot. Leave the slaves there and go do the required task (such as returning three shredders). 5x the gold for the same amount of time should lead to a decent bank.

For the quests where only 1 has to do them for multiple getting rewarded, I'd still have all of them on follow... just for the extra killing power or protection from ganking. The only time I'd personally have only one do something, is if that toon has a faster flying mount then the others.

The daily quests which can be done once, ie mostly killing quests, but where all of them receive the reward will be the best gold for your time invested. Figure out a circuit to take the dailies you enjoy doing the most. After that, farming is generally more gold per hour then non-efficient dailies/quests. Of course, if you have more then one team for dailies, running the worthwhile dailies on additional teams will beat farming.

I normally watch a movie or some other DVD while farming on 5 DKs. Kinda makes a few hours fly by. :P

They are level 73, I farm with them while I watch TV/movies and then I switch to my Shaman/Holy Priest/rogue group to level. I'm in a very small guild with no Holy priests.
