Default auto shot acting like round robin except I don't use round robin...

Alright, I got the setup, researched and figured it all out with the help of all your threads here. So TY for that.

Earlier today I was running around with two NE hunters and they would target the same thing and shoot at the same time, working just fine.

Later the same day, or actually today(been working on this for about 2-4 hours again... and after midnight again...) , the slave would follow my main and it would eventually attack but not initially. I will explain >

    The ONLY macros I have used so far as are follows;
    Accept all >
    /script AcceptQuest(); AcceptTrade(); RetrieveCorpse(); RepopMe(); ConfirmAcceptQuest(); StaticPopup_Hide("PARTY_INVITE"); StaticPopup_Hide("QUEST_ACCEPT");
    /jamba-group invite

    Follow >
    /target [target=Party1, nodead, help, exists];[target=charactername, exists]
    /follow

    Attack Target >
    /cast [target=targettarget, harm] [] Auto Shot
So here is what happens now. I have my slave following me, I target a mob with my main and then hit 3 which is auto attack for the main, and the Attack Target macro above for my slave.
It used to make them both shoot. Now only the main will auto attack/shot, the slave will not shoot unless I press it again which then toggles off the main's auto attack/shot...
I have tested every way I know how, tried selecting a mob with my main, switching to my slave's screen and then manually pressing the auto attack button> It will either select the closes mob or the one my main has selected, which is odd. But that's all it does, it takes another click or keypress of that command before the slave will start to shoot.

Nothing has changed about the macros I have been using today. I did ad a few mods from this site. But then once this could not be fixed I removed them all and then even reinstalled Keyclone. It makes no sense to me!

WHY wont the slave simply attack when I do? I even tried substituting Auto Shot with Arcane Shot once they both got it. And then her is an even weirder part. Using the Attack Target macro above (substituting arcane shot for auto shot) both master and slave will shot an arcane shoot, but then only the main continues to auto shoot... again.
I couldn't remember a way on the client side to disable auto shot, even though I checked it all over about 6 times. Please show me where this is failing... it is probably right under my nose, and I hope it is, I want to play and right now it will not work.

The only do not pass button I use right NOW is TAB and I do not have round robin setup, which IS the way it is acting though.

Auto attacks only work if you're actually targeting the mob. A "target=" statement won't actually acquire the target, therefore it fails to repeat. Hitting it again turns off the leader, and makes the follower shoot one time more.

    Use /assist.

yea dont use follow use this macro and your gonna wet ur self lol. /focus "main" /assist focus do that on all your slaves
then on your shots use for example /cast [target=focustarget] concussive shot. What happens now is all your slaves auto target your mains target.
The best part of this you never have to worry about a slave not attacking.

AWESOME! It WAS right under my nose, and now I understand the distinction between focus and target a bit more.
I read about the differences but hard to wrap the head around it till you try to do it, information and then application of information gets... varying results the first time around XD.

This will def fix the issue, esp since my CC are not mob selective from the initial cast (I don't have those spells yet but must be thinking ahead)
My only worry is that someday I will play a mage duo, and then I will need to make my focus a a mob for the CC (sheep), but then again there is no auyto attack, just key mashing I suppose.

Nope nope nope, the mages will work then I see, have to think about it more.
won't get to make changes for about 6 hours, have to work my 4 hour shift XD.
I'll be back again most likely but thank you both HUGELY! I am using the RaF and time is more than money right now, I will be running 2 teams of 2NE Hunters on 2 differnt servers ( i hate friends being on different servers, what ya gunna do) and at least a hunter set and a mage set on onther relm or 2 in the 90 days of 3x bonus xp so thanks in advance for future help and the insite now! Hope it works, something about it working after 2 keypresses.... 6 hours to find out lol

Look, don't bother with the focus thing. Do you need to have a variable main? If so, set up FTL keymaps and make an assist macro that can listen to FTL keystrings. If not, put an /assist MyMain line in your autoshot macro and call it a day. For example:

    Code:
    #showtooltip
    /assist myAwesomeTank
    /startattack
Actually, you might want to switch your main from just an attack button to:

    Code:
    #show Attack
    /startattack
Or whatever. You can also use bangs (i.e. stick an exclamation point in front of) things like "/cast !Attack" or "/cast !Auto Shot" when you're dealing with toggleable abilities. This will keep it from turning it off next time you hit the button (only in the case of what was happening with your main though - the follower's problem was as I outlined earlier, you need a target to autoattack with Attack / Auto Shot / Shoot).

Man ill tell u what i hate the ftl i never could get the hang of it. I just keybind my right action bar buttons 1-5 to my f8-f12. The on each char f8 will be the /focus main /assist focus then f9 will be first slave f10 second slave and so on. What this does is if my main dies cause hes my tanking dk then i hit f9 it switches both focus and makes it the larger screen from maximizer. And as well as that i make it so they go from blood presence to frost presence so they pick up the more armor hp and threat bonus.

    Alright! the following works flawlessly;

    #show arcane shot
    /assist mymain
    /cast Arcane Shot
    /startattack

this will work with the different attacks fine.
However If I ever PVP, which won;t be for about 3 months ... but still, I will have to figure out something else.
Because what if my main actually dies?

Don't have to answer that one now but something I must think about eventually.
Thank you very much Algol and suicidespyder ^_^

Casting Arcane Shot should start your autoshot on its own, I believe. But I don't think the redundant statement hurts either, and it may handle cases where Arcane Shot misses or cannot be cast (mob in melee range).

If your main dies and you don't mind not moving, you can keep using that account to target things. This is often okay for PVE.

In the long run, I strongly recommend using keystrings. Assisting an explicit target is good for getting you up and leveling fast, but it's not ideal in the long run. You can set it up so a given keypress shows up as a different thing depending on which account was dominant when you hit it, meaning you can do something like:

    /stopmacro [nomod]
    /assist [mod:alt,mod:shift,nomod:ctrl,target=CharA][mod:alt,mod:shift,mod:ctrl,target=CharB]

Or something like that. I haven't tinkered with that one in a while but I believe this is roughly how it goes. You then stick it on a button, get its ID, hide the bar, and invoke a line like:

    /click MacaroonButton37

in place of your original /assist line. The keymaps can be a pain to set up initially, and you may have to redo them a few times to get the bugs out, but you only have to do it one time and it's well worth it.

I actually use two versions of this (when I'm not doing quick-and-dirty macros to get leveling in a hurry), one to set my target pointer (not necessarily the actual target) to the current main and another to assist the current main. It simplifies macro creation and keeps you under the 255 char limit when using FTL modifiers.

Add a ! in front of autoshot stops the toggling thing

    /cast !autoshot
