Out-DPSed by a factor of 4, is it sensible?

It is common for me to kill people non-stop in BGs.. then I check the damage done column.. and I'm at, say 120k dmg done.
Always there are mages and DKs with 4-5 fold my damage.. at 400-500k dmg in this example.


If fail to see how a 20% (optimistically) increase in our cast-time dps is going put us on par with these classes. It would seem that at least 400% damage increase is required to put us up there with mages, DKs, rogues.
This situation is so ridiculous.

Your doing lbolt x 4 on single guys. While the mages/warlocks are spamming blizzard and seed from afar on multiples?

Would be my first guess anyway. Assuming this is AV.

also remember this, if you are doing this MB then your shaman only have to do 1/5th the damage to kill someone, so per kill a mage is doing X and your individual shaman is doing 1/5X. If you are single boxing, well you just dont have the AE to compete.

Your number seems low, 4-boxing that's around enough damage for maybe like 15-20 player kills by yourself depending on exactly what targets. How many kills do you end up with typically? Are you doing defense or offense, and in which BG? If I run on offense and hold a tower or graveyard, if I don't run into many players then yeah I can see doing damage like that or even less to be honest. If I run AV defense on my Warlock then I've been well over 1M damage in a turtle game, but typically its 3-400K even in the fastest games.

But to be honest who cares, the important column at the end of the game is Honor Earned.

man, doesnt it all depends on what u do in the bg?
damn, if u successfully defend balinda 2 times u'll have some considerable dmg, but if, instead, ur recapping towers, how come u want to be paired up with mages and hunters doing volleys?

It has always been like this, mages aoe dmg, ffs blizzard deals 1k per sec or wtv. hunter's, i've seen 1.5k-2k volleys.
theres many places where a couple of mages and a healer can produce nice numbers.

and ur still impressed why ur shamans arent on top? have u ever thought that, when killing someone, not all spells land on the target, thus, leaving u with less dmg done?

Seed of Corruption is still the king of AV AoE though, sooo much fun with that spell. Wish I had 5x Warlock to run!

Even if you're not basing your claims off the end screen numbers your then basing it off of running numbers. You have to remember, YOUR the different one here. You're the orange trying to compare yourself to the apple. It just does not compute. If you want to compare yourself like this please figure out a way to run each of your toons in a different direction doing different things, just like all those apples are doing. Come back with numbers then and we'll compare apples to apples. Until then, working as intended. Whenever I was running my 3 in AV @ 70 I never was top damage, I was never top healing. But I was certainly in the top 5 somewhere on HKs. Thats all that matters. If you really care so much about being able to match damage with other classes, you're better off finding another game that actually balances classes.

It's not so much that I care about it.. but I do find myself pitted against these people that have 5 times my damage done, and let me tell you.. they hurt, a lot.. I've had mages kill my 500 resilience chars before I can react. But we already know that I guess.


I think that what I'm really trying to say is that I suspect that some classes have damage cooldowns that are very fitting for the "encounter frequency" in BGs..
