    Default AOE Grind Warlocks

OK using hellfire when you get a level 30, is it possibile to AOE grind using this, are the logistics possible?
I have 4 locks and 1 holy priest.

im guessing you could quite easily do this but would immagine you would need the points in destruction tree that allow for less intrupt on channeling and also give a chance to stun, not tried and test i really have no idea how good or bad that stun is, but its about 13% on each pulse so x4 would give it a good chance to almost stun lock most things.

you would probably need to spam POH from the priest to keep them all up.

if i remember rightly i saw someones video on youtube doing this in SM gy.

If you put both points into pyroclasm it's a 26 percent chance to stun each tick. Yeah, i have found that hellfire works really well. It helps if you spec up to the 70 percent chance to resist interruption but it's not totally necessary, you'll just use more mana and have to recast it more often. I usually use hellfire to clear trash in instances since i don't have much in the way of cc. Just sick a pet on each mob, run in and hellfire. It has worked well so far. I'm 68 right now and lately i have been aoe grinding level 69 mobs at the black temple for cloth and rep, i can easily handle over 10-15 at a time.

Actually, the chance to stun is not per tick. It is spread out over the entire spell length, so divide 26% by the number of pulses. I don't recall how many there are though. This can be verified on the warlock forums. At least, this is how it used to work. If it has changed, then it is news to me. (Lock is my main)

I've tried this and found that affliction and dotting everything is much more efficiant for levling than aoe at lower levels.

At mid levels (~35+), hellfire is a great way to level, provided you spec for it and have 4 locks and 1 holy priest.

And are quick on the heals

Atleast your locks don't take durability loss on a hellfire death.

I also fund that hellfire becomes better with level, however now post 2.3 most of your xp commes from quests. Its just much faster to quest for xp rather than grind. And when you're doing quests, you usually have to kill certain mobs. For this purpose, affliction and dotting is much more efficiant.

I would generally agree with that. But for instance grinding, Hellfire > DOTs for raw speed.

I started using hellfire in SM and it is very viable if you aren't attacking mobs that sheild slam/kick or otherwise silence/interrupt. RFD was a breeze with hellfire. I don't use it all the time as dots are usually more efficient. With 4+ mobs, it works wonders. There are some 7-mob pulls in RFD and I didn't have any trouble with them.

[edit] It should be noted that warlock spec is much less critical than your priest spec. I did this with my locks specced straight demonology.

I'm considering an aoe build that's something like:

    imp DS + emberstorm

Would be pretty intense, but single target damage would suck
