    Default I need help understanding hotstrings

    well i understand how you translate a keypress to a hotstring, i just dont know how the have the recieving end translate it back to a keypress
    50 Characters - 10 Classes - 5 Accounts - 1 Player

    Default

    you need to have 2 hotstrings for every action, 1 is coming from the main account, the second (which is named identically) is saved to your boxed account. for example I have a priest/mage combo I tried:

    Priest:
    Buff.us --> casts PowerWord: Fort

    Mage:
    Buff.us --> Casts Arcane intellect

    When I hit my Shift+B (thats what I have the keys mapped too) both characters buff the party.

    Default

    but how do i make the ones on the recieving end ?
    i can do 'key' >> 'hotstring'

    but how do i make a 'hotstring' >> 'key'
    50 Characters - 10 Classes - 5 Accounts - 1 Player

  4. #4

    Default

    you make 2 keymaps... one for each translation
    ie:

    ranged.attack >> 2 // this is on keymap 'mage.kcl' which will trigger actionbar.slot.2 -> fireball

    ranged.attack >> 5 // this is on keymap 'warlock.kcl' which will trigger actionbar.slot.5 -> shadow bolt

    ranged.attack >> 7 // this is on keymap 'warrior.kcl' which will trigger actionbar.slot.7 -> charge

    then load each to the appropriate character type (you can auto-load the keymap via the keyclone/setup/command panel)

    Default

    but in keyclone you can only make key >> hotstring
    50 Characters - 10 Classes - 5 Accounts - 1 Player

  6. #6

    Default

    correct. if you are on your mage and mage.kcl is loaded... hitting 2 (with the keyboard, not clicking w/ the mouse) will get translated into ranged.attack and sent to all other wows. once received by the other wows, on the same machine or remote machines, keyclone will look for an associated keymap... like warrior.kcl... and look up the hotstring. if no keymap is associated with that wow or there is no entry for that hotstring, it will be ignored. if there is an entry for that hotstring, then the associated key will be pushed to the window... in this example the 7 would be pushed and the warrior would charge.
