Computer Keeps Rebooting

Hello all,



I am new to dual-boxing..I swore per the FAQ i would read everything there was and try to figure out how to work the program myself as best as possible before asking for help....But this isnt typical rookie question i think....If i run either of my 2 accounts by themselves ...No problem...When i boot up both accounts and have Keyclone running it might be 5 to 10 minutes...I then get some loud static pop through my speakers and the computer reboots itsself..It has done this several times since i installed software & tried to just set up teh keyclone program...Does anybody have any clue whey my computer keeps getting dumped before i even get started. If i am not clear enough please tell me..I have only been at this for a few hours and any help would be most appreciated.

I have been experiencing the same issue on my second machine (the one that runs 4x copies of wow - 2x on each monitor) after 2-3 minutes the machine reboots, I thought at first it was an issue with my machine.

I have tried the following run keyclone as normal to start the 4x wow windows up - leave it running and the machine reboots once the instances have fully loaded into the game.

If i start the instances with keyclone running - log in as normal and before selecting the character to load, i closed keyclone the 4x instances load up, but the machine still reboots after 5-10 minutes. (so removes keyclone as the suspect)

I recently updated my pc via windows update, so i dont know if this has any relevance to the problem.

there is nothing obvious in the event viewer

running Vista64 home premium. 8GB ram, Q6600 and Nvidia GX260.

One instance via Keyclone seems stable - could be a GFX driver issue - will restore earlier driver later on this morning to check

This can sometimes occur when a component exceeds the available power to it. Since these events are happening under high video load, take a look at the power supply and plugs. If you are using a multiple rail power supply ensure the load is balanced out. Ensure the power supply is up to the task.

I concur that this is probably a power issue. Running multiple instances of the game will place your computer under heavier load and increase the power requirements. If your PSU isn't up to the job, then spontanous reboots are likely.

Also check cooling. If it's not adequate then the increased load could also cause overheating.

Good Morning & thank you for the responses...Im have a thermal take 550W power supply....he cpu is a AMD 64 Dual Core 4800...the video card is ATI radeon X1900 w/512 ram...i have 2 gigs of ram running windows xp....Thank you for any other suggestions & responses..

Hey, sorry to hear bout the problems... I had a similar situation whereby my comp (running 2 wows) would just shut down after 10 mins of gameplay. I downloaded a free temperature monitor for cpu/GPU etc... and found out my dual cores were running at 80c... needless to say I kept the computer off, went to the shop and bought a new CPU fan for 40 quid. They are now running at 40~45 degrees celsius and no more shutdown! Give that a go, the software I used was speedfan, go google it 8) .

check your heat and make sure things are going at a relatively cool rate.

Well my power supply is 550 watts...i did get speed fan as suggested...As of right now the core & other temps between 40-44..HD0 reads65 degrees...Are these acceptable? ...Is the power supply possibly not enough juice to run this? Thanks for everybody's help...Im very grateful.

Ok...been doing some more work here....I downloaded ATITool 0.27 and the GPU tops 100C & reboots once i run the second account...Any ideas what might be the problem there? The card is a Radeon 1900XT 512mb
