    Default Mage/pally team.

Hey guys, I have finally figured out which duo I'm leveling. It's a mage/pally duo. I have NO clue how to spec either of them through the levels. Looking for a spec where they can both compliment each other the best. As well as efficient enough to fly through levels.

Never played a pally or mage passed lvl 10, so far it's amazing... The pally does a decent job at tanking, and if I'm AoE tanking I consecrate the ground and Arcane Explosion with the mage... It's fun so far...

Atm I'm sending the pally down the ret tree, and the mage down ice. Should I use prot for the pally? I don't know these things lol.

Links to a guide elsewhere is fine too.

    Thanks guys.

Until you start doing dungeons, ret is perfect for your paladin. The mage, frost is more of a "keep them contained" spec, which might be wasted when paired with a paladin. I would go either Arcane or Fire, or a combo of both. Fire has a nice range, which helps sometimes. I leveled my mages all fire, and respecced (free with 3.0 patch) to Arcane. I think I did more overall damage as fire, but as arcane, I do pretty well with mana, and much better AoE (with Arcane Explosion)

I think you picked a very good combo. Enjoy it! Also, make sure you get all 3 gathering professions, its much easier to level up and gether, and worry about crafting later. Put skinning on the mage, as its possible to macro skinning on an alt, where mining and herbing have to be clicked. I'd also consider enchanting, as it makes green and blue drops that you can't use useful for income.

Ret Paladin leading Fire Mage is my first thought.

Fire tends to be easier to level with. Arcane is good, more so with Barrage, but a lot of its solo-play capability doesn't come out until later. Frost is an option for solo leveling, if slower than fire, but most of the things that make it help solo ain' so good if you can count on the mob paying attention to the retadin.

If you're going to AOE set your pally to prot w a shield spike. You'll dish out half your damage from being hit, and mobs will stick to you like glue.
