F.Y.I. i'm pretty sure doing this is against blizzard's TOS, and if detected could lead to a suspension or ban
Blizzard has no authority for how your web browser displays web pages.
They may not have the authority, but when has that stopped big business from doing wtf it wants.

But srsly, I didn't even know there were ads, until I read the QQs. L2: adblock, noscript, etc

Even tho I'm the OP, I'm not a fan of Adblock. The reason is a lot of sites I visit deserve the support that advertising provides them. Sites like Blizzard's forum absolutely should not be displaying advertisements to their paying customers when those customers visit their forums for support. Those customers are required to visit the Blizzard forums for support and thus should not be subject to Blizzard's attempts at extracting more $$ from them.

Fan sites on the other hand, which offer information free which is not required to play the game, deserves advertising support. Any website which provides information free of charge and deserves money gained from advertising revenue.

I agree with yeh about the supporting site that deserve it only problem i have is that not all adds are benign some come with ad/spy ware, virus and what not therefore I block all adds.

It is pretty sad, you think blizzard would have enough money from RAF and WOTLK coming, but nooo! They had to advertise on forums. It really sucks =[
