Default I bit the bullet and spec one shammy resto...now my question is how to heal?

Ok so I started off by just have a cast sequence mixed into my DPS mash button. Its pretty much is just Riptide. Lesser Healing Wave spam....

It works good but pretty much after every fight my Resto Shammy is out of mana. I don't die now but is there a better way to handle this? I'd rather not have it on a third button I need to spam but I guess I could if I really need to.

    Thoughts/comments?

Edit: Needless to say I got my first Heroic Boss down BARELY, but I did in Utgarde Keep I got the 1st guy down after a few wipes.

I use a castsequense macro on my tank that goes like this:

    /castsequense chain heal,healing wave,healing wave

I also have a macro on the button right by

    /castsequense riptide,earthshield

i always refresh earthshield before thought pulls/bosses so that riptide is ready first.

I also got a chain heal macro on each toon + my shamans got the ability to all lesser healing wave the tank or each shaman.

This is superb incase the healer get CC like he does in the Meathook fight on heroic or the first fight in UK.

Funny thing is that the first fight in UK actually got harder with a dedicated healer, but 9/10 fights get ALOT easier + you get manatide totem!

I have been using a dedicated healer since I hit 70 and I recently made some changes. I was running out of mana in longer fights and using way more than I needed to. Instead of spamming a heal button on my DPS button, I either just dps with my healer (on trash) or have nothing on the dps button for fights when it gets nasty. I instead bound a key near my dps key to heal. I don't have it in front of me, but it goes like this.

    #showtooltip
<however you target who you will heal, I still use focus>
    /cast [nomod] Lesser Healing Wave
    /cast [mod:shift] Earth Shield
    /cast [mod:ctrl] Healing Wave
    /cast [mod:alt] Chain Lightning

I can 'SPAM' this while I fight and it has helped me conserve mana.

I personally put my dedicated healer buttons on the numpad, since I use pretty much all my letter keybinds.

    My macro's are usually..

    /assist Tank (or Assist Party1)
/cast [help] Heal Spell; [help, target=targettarget] Heal Spell; [target=TankName] Heal Spell

My only dedicated healer so far is a dreamstate druid, with: Rejuventation, Regrowth and Lifebloom (Plus Swiftmend).

For a shaman, I'd go with Lesser Healing Wave, on the same keybind as the other shaman's, for a quick emergency heal. Healing Wave, Riptide, Mana Tide would have their dedicated buttons. Earth Shield would have its own too. I'd have the healer use Water Shield on the same keybind as the other shammies.

i use 1 2 3 for my lava burst lightning and chain 4 5 6 is lesser, healing wave, and chain assist target and then i use number pad to single target my shamans 1 - 4 . 5 chains a group member and 6 is stopcasting 4x lesser healign wave on tank in case i need the burst heal real quick. its worked so far for me and ive been doing quite a few heroics.
