    Default Hit vs Critt

    First i would like to state that this tread is aimed at shamans and casters in general, hit rating working abit different with meele (dualvield,expertice etc)

    Last day of work before xmas and not realy much to do so i took a peak trought most of the posters specs and how they gear.

    Not manny seems to put points into Elemental Precision either and i think its strange that people take hit over critt.

    I personaly feel that reaching the pvp hit cap is the most important damage wise when it comes to pvp (along with spell damage ofc)

    To sum it up you need:

    5% is the base hit needed for other level 80's
    7% is needed against Taurens and Night Elfs with earth spells
    7% is needed against Blood Elfs who have -2% hit to all schools of magic

    Some classes have -hit in talents aswell so you cant realy cover it 100%

    My aim will be 5% but im not saccing crazy numbers to get it either.

    Why hit rating and not critt rating:

    Simply because a HIT can always critt, while a hit that doesnt land cant critt either.
    Hex arent affected by critt but hit (its not much used but who knows what will happen later on)
    If flameshock miss you lose a guaranteed critt (it can still critt ofc but its not 100%)

    You get 3% with elemental precision and next minor patch will free up some talent points. (elemental shiels and armor merges)

    Now your on 5.44% and well over the hit cap. I dont feel that stacking more is needed unless you want to free up 3 talent points. Reverberation wont make me do TONS of more damage since i only apply flameshock and then there is only mana regen talents left and critt = Elemental focus = Mana saved

    There is also hit on the hatefull cloack and neck, you also got enchants and gems.

    Just curiouse what people thoughts are on HIT vs CRITT when it comes to pvp realy are.

    Hit is clearly much better than crit until you cap out, which you will pretty quickly as a draenei shammy.

    Until you're hit capped, hit is the best dps increasing stat.
    Basically 1% hit is a lower hit rating number then the amount of crit rating to get you 1% crit.
    And the ratings cost the same number of item points; but hit is a larger benefit at the same rating.

    Once you're hit capped, it doesn't so anything for you.
