Sorry to hear that bro, good luck in your new job search.

Hopefully Obama wont raise taxes on businesses like he campaigned on... or layoffs are going to get significantly worse.

I feel you i had a great job but in doing so went back to college to further my knowledge as a chef and had to leave old job. It was to much driving 3 hrs a day total to get to work and back and goto school not mentioned the miles. Now with what bush did i cant find a good paying job even just for part time cause BUSH SCREWED OUR ECONOMY UP. Sorry little frustrated at him just like his daddy they just want to make a name for themselves lol.

I work in online advertising, for a small firm. I was a high paid biz dev guy. Sucks, but oh well, these things usually happen for the better. Just a little frustrating that its going to take such a toll on my back account.

I would LOVE to hear how Bush affected the economy as it sits today. I would really love to hear exactly what you think he did... Economies are living creatures and they go through cycles, they go up and down, and while the decisions politicians make can affect them greatly, it's rare that their decisions actually reflect in the immediate term.

The housing crisis we face in America right now for example started by the good intentions of the Carter administration, and I'd wager you weren't even a glint in momma's eye back then.

Sorry to hear about your job loss. A lot of companies are tightening up sadly =(

My wife works for KeyBank, and they tend to send out the usual "we are doing layoffs" email every Xmas.. makes everyone nice and nervous.
Luckily shes still got a job this year..

I work for a NOC center.. and I know we couldn't make it on my salaries alone.

Well its not like Bush is solely responsible for the economic downturn, though I can understand the sentiment that he was a contributing factor simply via the fact that he and everyone else in Washington have this notion that so long as they can keep the economy from tanking they've "fixed" the problem. Well, that and the fact that we've known about the housing bubble for some time now and no one really cared until the thing popped.

Bottom line, there's plenty of blame to go around.

Sorry about the job, it's brutal out there right now. My wifes employer told them their budget runs out the first of March and their reserves might make salary to the end of the month.

IndyMac: I bought a house from them two days after the FDIC takeover. I got a great deal, but if my wife gets laid off, things might be a little difficult.

I was laid off in the middle of August, but I was able to do contract work with the same people for a bit. Out of curiosity, how do people actually get jobs? I've created a respectable resume, have good references, and only apply to jobs that I am qualified for, but no one is biting right now.
