    Howdy boxers,

    I have a death knight who I am using to dps on my melee team.... I am really torn between blood and unholy, wondered if any of you had any thoughts.

    Seems like both give some good buffs but I think blood wins on the buff side of things... i think it will be a little more involved to play though.

    Looking at it from a group buffing perspective, seems like

    Blood =

    Abominations might (10% ap buff) (have an enh shaman that can provide this if need be)
    Glyphed rune tap = 10% group heal every 30 seconds
    Blood aura (4% damage done returned as health)
    Hysteria (20% damage buff on 3m CD)
    Mark of blood - debuff placed on mob, heals whoever he hits for 4% of their life up to 20 times (3 min cooldown)

    Unholy =

    Glyphed rune tap = 10% group heal every 30 seconds (its low enough that you can reach it from any tree)
    Ebon plague debuff (13% more magic dmg taken)... i think this would, for the most part, only effect the the lightning / chain lightnings my shaman occasionally throws
    Unholy aura - 15% run speed increase.
    Anti magic zone - scaling magic damage absorption for group, 5 min cooldown

    So buff wise blood seems like a clear winner.

    I am not sure about the DPS side of things, but for AOEing at least unholy seems to be the winner hands down. With unholy blight and wandering plague i dont see how you can go wrong.


    Ugghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

    I am leaning towards blood for the buffs and I like the idea of blood aura even if its a paltry 4%.... oy.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    blood is crappy for tanking, however upcoming changes might make it better... it remains to be seen. Blood also has no AE ability, which means in instances you will need to CC adds or they will kill your dps. ATM unholy is the best for boxers, but I would love the group heal if they just gave blood some AE ability to hold aggro.

    Death and Decay , And you can reduce the cooldown even if you're deep blood. And you're most of the time on you'Re tank I see their no Problem the one thing that an Unholy got more is the 51 pt. Talent but that'S not "aggro/threat-dmg" so similiar to (is it?)Pestilence (or the other, desease Spread out thing, just don't know the word) and heart strike is going to attack 2 Targets.

    I guess it very depends on the Boss or Mob grp you're going to tank, each has it's pros and Cons, I Kinda like blood, but you could also do a mix or the best of all 3 trees. I'm going to check it out if I'm high enough^^

    Well, not to mention you are giving up ebon plaguebringer which is a 12(?)% buff to elemental damage if you go blood.

    ok that's a big mistake of mine, haven't even seen it(but I had my DK specced unholy , maybe just specced because it sounded nice. naja) 13% actually, but I guess it's going to be buffed, I think this is insane how disadvataged melee classes are, not just as a MB

    ok in this case just wars and rogues (+ droods in Melee form)

    True but if you look at my team ... im one of those crazy melee boxers so not a big deal for me.

    As for the tanking issue... well technically 4 of my 5 chars can tank lol. But the druid is the one ill likely be controlling and therefore he will probably end up tanking. We will see.

    Ya I will be doing all DK group and while I wont be able to do any instances I will have fun leveling them. It should compliment my 5 druid group. Who knows maybe one day I will write seperate macros in different folders so I can do 4dk 1druid or 1dk 4 druid.
