    Default Sigh...Heroics are owning me...

I swear I don't know what to do...

I've tried Utgarde Keep, Stratholme, now Gundrak.

Gundrak I cleared no problem on normal but on Heroic I can't even get past Moorabi.

The guide says tank and spank. It seems to fail to mention that he does quake which does like 10k damage to everyone and stuns them for 3 seconds. My whole team is flashing red life after this and I'm lucky if my tank is still alive after one. I even read the WIKI on these guys and still no good....

I tried to stay back but to no avail the Quake is total LOS no matter what distance. I tried my best to keep him in troll form, but I never manage to keep him there.

Now I am running Uncritable Pally Tank, 3 Elemental Shammy, and 1 Resto Shammy.

Best attempt I got him to 10% life.

    GRRRRRR...............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Attempts made today 30: Deaths=150....sigh.

I know there is a few pieces of crafted gear I still need for my shammies(IE Rev two piece and possibly the JC Neck/Ring) but this is stupid. One fricken move takes me from 21k HP to nothing. Quake does 10k and then he gets three extra attacks for about 3-4k each. Yes I pretty much have my resto healing him all the time and after a quake I get them all to heal him but all the time its just too much damage too fast.

    How is your healing setup?

I used to run into so many issues doing heroics, that im now farming, some still with deaths to lower end gear, but im still able to do many. I had a huge issue with trying to rush dps out instead of taking it slow and easy, to a degree, to make sure my guys were healed up before certain thigns happened.

My gear on my guys isnt all that, there +dmg is around 1200, buffed up to 1500, crits usually unbuffed around 20s and mid teens. My gear is way under some of the others. My Paladin tank is semi decently geared, i had good luck with epic drops, and friends helping me with titansteel crafted stuff.

    For instance, On Moorabi

For the first part of the fight, im primarily dps/trinketing, and shocking his transformation until at least 60 to 75%. After that i top my guys up, having them all heal themelves, and then poping heroism/lust. From that point forward i just DPS as much as i can, by that time hes usually 25-30% by the time he does his first quake. My guys drop to 30% life, but with 3 healing totems there usuallyup to 50% before hes either dead or does his next quake then after that he usually dead. Also beware of the Gore Debuff on your tank, you can easily bleed to death near the end of the fight becuase its stacked.

This is sad, but I didnt even know that quake damaged my guys. I have all shamans specced Elemental and I don't even interrupt the transition. I definitely think this guy must be a dps race then, he doesnt quake until I get him to about 40% and then he doesnt get it off again as none of my guys have died on him. What I do for fights I treat like a dps race is BL/trinket initially and then make paladin use his divine protection (50% less damage or 12 secs) during that time I do not heal him. I just pewpew and after that I start healing when paladin hits 60% or so to prevent quake killing him.

Heroics are crazy hard for solo multiboxers. Mostly because our gear is "on par" with the instances (or below), whereas in TBC we would run around in s2/etc gear which was 20-30 item levels above the instance gear. It does get easier with time -- I started heroics last week, died 10+ times in UK first boss and dozens in other heroics. This week I cleared UK, Gundrak, and a few others with much fewer wipes (my gear has gotten a lot better, focusing mostly on my tank).

Sadly I just don't feel like running heroics tbh as a multiboxer, they still are crazy hard, I wipe a lot, and usually I get something that nobody can use

I would recommend perhaps running heroics SOLO, I've been doing one a day with my prot pally slowly getting geared up (also ran naxx10/25 and VoA). Will do the same with my shaman(s) too next week. Gear definitely helps a lot.

Wrt moorabi specifically, definitely try to interrupt his transforms as much as you can. He does a lot less damage in troll form. It is a DPS race, but you can't forget to heal. I downed him with 3 ele shamans (+prot pally + mage) and would rotate between DPS, lhw on tank, and all chain healing after quake. I just respec'd one of my shamans resto, to be honest I'm finding it worse than 3 ele shamans but I'm going to play with it for a day or two and see if it improves as I tweak macros and my attack sequences.

My shammies are pretty much on par with yours. Around 1200 Self Buffed and 1500 with Totem of Wrath. I pretty much just DPS the crap out of him from the start while keeping the tank topped up with my resto shammy. He's cake in troll form but I always seem to miss a transformation due to Earth Shock on CD or I don't have my Hammer left from an interrupt already. After a quake I know he does no damage to the others so I spam heal my tank with all 4 in order to keep him up and then chain heal the rest and let the Healing totems do the work.

I even got my Titansteel Guardians on them the other day (Still need to enchant them with +50 Spellpower) but it doesn't seem to have changed my DPS at all, even though it went up 200 points. I know its being slightly nerfed but still, its pretty much these crappy boss abilties that 1 shot my team that is frustrating me.

I farm like 1500g a day through the dailies but after that I get burned out after wiping on instances 20-30 tries. The only boss I've managed to best twice is Prince in Utgarde Keep. I think I got lucky both times. I know of things to upgrade too and I am working on the few last crafted items I can get but that still is only like another 200 Spellpower and then I still don't think it'll be enough.

Also for the suggestion about using Divine Shield. That idea caused me everytime to lose instant aggro and the bosses/mobs went for my shammies and well you know the rest.

I know you won't like this answer but you basically answered the question yourself. Do not let him transform into a mammoth, ever! Heroics have extremely tight tolerances. They're designed this way on purpose. Normal Instances have a huge leeway, and if you have a super geared tank you can sometimes accidentally pull 3-4 groups of mobs and still come out on top. In a heroic, the slightest mistake can cause a wipe. Even if you completely overgear instances sometimes a mistake can cause a wipe on a heroic. In this case, not interrupting his mammoth form is pretty much game over for you. There might still be ways to kill him after he transforms but the bottom line is it sounds like you have the means to interrupt him but miss it occasionally - you'll have to work harder on "not missing" the interruption

So for the most part what i would try and pull Earth Shock out of your rotation put into an easy macro with a /stopcasting and stagger it out like a tremor totem. this will help slightly with making sure ES is up to cancel the Transformation. However, Eventually i let him shift around 60% or so, again, when he shifts to Mammoth he does do more dmg. So be ready to lust/hero and burn him.

Only healing i usually do is either Healing Wave on Tank when needed, then i have a mod key to have everyone heal themselves that usually gets them up when a quake happens.

I pretty much do all the dailies listed from the Horde Icecrown Guide minus like 2. I also do 6 in Grizzly Hills that are super easy. Most of the rest is just from general questing while doing the dailes, as I made 80 and skipped the entire Storm Peaks, Crystal Song, Basin zones.

Garea - I think you should upgrade your gear a bit, your WoW Power Score is a bit low

Comparing Gareatank (Azjol-Nerub) with 480 Protection Paladins (all realms), level 80 to 80

    Gareatank's Wow Power Score = 29.8 %
