well, I started digging into this, it appears as though I have hit a snag. Everything I am reading says that junctions can not be used beyong local drives and symlinks only function over networked rives for windows vista.
Note that Windows does not support junctions to directories on remote shares.
However, the functionality enabling cross-host symbolic links requires that the remote system also support them, which effectively limits their support to Windows Vista and later Windows operating systems.
So, I have a problem, since I am running Windows XP system, if I want to (and I really really do) test and use this set up, I will need to find a new operating system. :/
