Default Why does no one use five paladins?

    Dear players!

Why does nobody use 5 paladins? They have big armor and heal! Are 5 palas not good? 5 tanks who can heal in big armor? Please tell me what would 5 pally look like? They could also aoe with consecration... Let me know if you know about 5 palies. Cannot I just rock through instances with five tank paladins - they have now damage 51 point talents so they could be great not true?

    Thank you!

Ps: I just started 5 boxing I have already 3 hunters + paly + shamy they are already lvl 12!!! (it took lot of time despite that I kill XX lvl mobs) and could kill already lvl 19 uniques although I am wiped after a few.

When I realize that the pets cannot hold aggro enough I decided to make 5 paladins thinking 5 tank and heal. But I could not notice any thread about 5 paladins. Then I thought that I can just prowl to bosses and kill them if I used 5 druids (I thought of cats). So I started them and now I read many excellent 5 druid threads. My 5 druids thay are already lvl 3. (It is so slow to lvl 5 at the same time took couple of hour to set up my amateur macros and reacl lvl 3 lol) it was my idea and now I read the 5 druid threads how great they are so it is a good choice.

Probably because five pallies is an all-melee group ... in any particular fight, you'd be likely to have at least three of five facing the wrong way! I'd love a melee-heavy group but until someone at Blizzard decides that automatically facing one's current target would improve the game for the old awkward grandparents recently introduced to WoW (and multiboxers), it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

they're melee. its not impossible to do, but it sure isnt the easiest.

I actually just started an all pally group with raf.. they're 41 right now. As everyone said melee is bit more work in terms of positioning but it's quiet doable. They're pretty tough, run SM cath at 38(?) and was pretty smooth. Though range casters are a pain.. till you get up close and then it's game over for them.

To combat the melee thing i use on my dk group. I send in main with rest following then all have g as secondary forward button. So once main is on target i hit g to get them all on top then start beating the crap out of something. Seems more work then its worth but once u get use to that your fine.
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.

Because they're melee, and ret already got nerfed to the ground. If ret was still OP, I'm sure it would happen. But running all-melee teams is still a niche thing, always will be.

A tip when you face meele groups is to place your group behinde a corner, pull with your tank and run behinde the corner.

Armor aint everything thats for sure..

Ive run an all Pally group. Not really difficult, but not really that interesting either. I'm sure they can tackle just about anything at this point. The real kicker comes down to getting that many sets of plate and weapons, but truth be told, with how many abilites got combined, you're better off tossing at least one warrior in to the mix regardless.

I actually have a full pally group. Like any other groups, they shine in certain situations, and are weaker in others. Instances are easily doable, but it's not a cakewalk.

I just ran through mana tombs last night with 4 level 66 pallies (catching up to my 70 before i level them together). they are each spec'ed differently enough to have all the improved blessing/auras. one is spec'ed mostly prot while the other 3 are spec'ed mostly ret though.

the new ret CC ability helps tremondously with single pulling one group member at a time. AE with consecration is doable (and extra deadly against demon/undead mobs when you can make use of exorcism/holy wrath) but nowhere near as efficient as my group of mages with improved blizzard.

again, biggest challenge is the melee aspect. a lot of mobs constantly move around/behind you, pushback, etc. and it's difficult to make sure that all of your team members are constantly in melee range. whenever they're not, you're suffering a noticeable drop in your dps.

but yes you can ae to some degree through consecration/holywrath/divine storm/avenger's shield/etc. The best part is with the short cooldown on your bubbles now, you can always gather up a few groups and then get a 10-12 second of invulnerable ae. but if you cant finish off your pull in that time and you pulled too much, it's a wipe.

with all that said, i love my pally group. they're very viable in groups and i danced through blood furnace/ramps with only 4 pallies at around 60-62. wasnt even a challenge except for the last dragon/rider boss in ramps, but even that was doable with only 4 62's.

good luck if you decide to pursue this! and melee groups arent that bad. my 5x dk group is even easier to run and melee with thanks to death grip, though less survivable.

    Default Paladins

You need to do a search for Paladin, or go check out the whowhere wiki page. I know I've posted at least 3-4 times about my all Pally level 65 team, and other folks have paladin teams too. There's another 5 box paladin team besides mine on my server, Hydraxis. Pallies are out there, just got to look. Oh and melee isn't a problem, it's actually quite easy. With 5x concecrate, plate armor, healing, dps, ect they are fantastic. They're far more my favorite than my shaman team.
