i lol'd at one of the reviews of it on buy.com:

I took off a black sticker from behind the monitor and the HP logo was embossed.

I ordered 2 of these, and they're fantastic. They absolutely are HP monitors, model 2408, for less than half of the best sale price I could find anywhere.

The computer recognizes them as HP monitors, and after downloading the (better) drivers and utilities from HP's website, they look fantastic. If you peel off the stickers, it has all HP markings underneath...I guess they didn't want people to know they could get HP's $450ish monitors for $200 shipped...

I've been using 19" Dell CRT monitors (2 of them), and was looking to upgrade to 20 or 22" LCDs, but for the price, I couldn't say no to these. If anyone's interested, I think these are probably the best buy in monitors around, by far.

P.S. They're HUGE...each one is pretty much double the size of my 19" CRT...made for some creative rearranging on my desktop...
