    Default WoTLK PVE Group Composition

    Hello all,

I am looking to start leveling my 5 man group once my DK gets to 70. During BC, I was using 4 shammies+Prot pally. And I also have a 70 druid and priest. However for my PVE instance group for my lving to 80, I was think I might try out a mixed combo. I know that truly the only test that matters is how well I can myself play the group, but I am interested in others successes/failures as well. I have a couple of diffent plans below. I havent had much success at playing multiple melee classes at a time so I am trying to steer towards ranged dps as much as possible. At this time I have not done any of the Northrend content or instances so I know little about the viability of these group to successfully complete the new instances. I also am hoping that one of the groups would be decent for heroics. Please let me know if you have any experience that might help ease the transition over. Thanks!!!

Plan A: DK Unholy Tank, Holy Pally, 2 Elemental Shammies and a Balance Druid

Plan B: DK Unholy Tank, Holy Priest, 2 Elemental Shammies and Balance Druid

Plan C: DK Unholy Tank, Holy Pally, Shadow Priest, Elemental Shammy and Balance Druid

Plan D: DK Unholy Tank, Ret Pally, Holy Priest, Elemental Shammy and Balance Druid (I think this might be the most powerful, but the dual melee has been problematic for me in the past)

For PVP I still plan on lvling the rest of my shammies to 80 for a DK+4 Elemental Shammy combo.

Plan D sounds very nice. The only change I would make is run a disc priest instead of a holy. DK has none of the rage probs warriors/druids have, so disc is the perfect healer for a DK.

I would go for plan B and like the previous poster, concider disc instead of Holy.
Currently not boxing, info below is not really relevant.

Why would the disc priest be better?

I'd also like to know that. I've just started a group that a RAFed to 60 and it has a holy priest healing right now.

I realise that Holy spec is also good, I was just saying that disc synergy with DK is almost perfect. DK does not get rage/mana from taking damage, so prevention is perfect (where this might be problematic for druids, warriors, paladin). Disc also has alot better mana management until highend raiding itemisation.
