I used my 72 BM hunter w/ gorilla to AoE boost in ZF. I don't know if this would be as feasible with a mage. The first group I got to 50 in ZF, but the second group I got only to 45 and I just ran out of steam and went to Hinterlands.
Horde: 80 Hunter | 70 Pally | 2x70 Shamans | 70 Resto Druid
Alliance: 80 DK
I used my Arcane-spec'd mage to powerlevel my 5-shaman team to 70 in a month. I took a couple 3-day breaks, though cuz I was getting burnt out. 95% of that entire month was leveling in the Outlands. Pick-up quests KILL me as a multiboxer. I don't have the heart to skip *any* quests!Originally Posted by 'oMek',index.php?page=Thread&postID=155286#post155 286
Here's what I did:
Mage is on account "A".
I had shamans on accounts A, B, C, D, and E.
I took B, C, D, and E through dungeons with the mage, gaining 300% RAF experience.
Because the shaman on account A was behind in levels, I just granted all levels to him from account "B". (B->A)
The order I ran instances was: RFC-->SFK-->RFK-->SM-->ZF. I was gaining around 1.5 levels in the lower dungeons (per run), and it topped off at about 0.75 levels per run when I reached ZF. Then I started questing. The entire team was in their 50's in a few days.
My strategy on the mage specifically was using a down-ranked arcane explosion, running into everything I saw. Arcane explosion, arcane explosion, arcane explosion. Mana gems, pots, and heal the mage with the shamans.
Something I recall that sucked was going back to get all the shamans' totems (quests)! My main has always been the mage. I'd never played a shaman before. Those totem chain quests were a pain to look up!

what level did you go to ZF at?
I believe I was in ZF from 40-50. I ran a couple different 4-RAF groups like this, and sometimes I would get bored, "jump the gun", and head into the next instance a little early. So I might have hit ZF around 38.Originally Posted by 'oMek',index.php?page=Thread&postID=155344#post155 344
I can tell from experience though--if you're too low for the instance, your XP gains will be less efficient than running lower instances for your level. Especially since the higher-level mobs will take more to kill with your mage. If you run ZF too early, your XP gains will be low, then they'll start to curve up to a higher number once you're close to the mobs' level(s).
The best thing to do, I think, is to get Cartographer on your main. Then when you open your map, it'll tell you which instances are good for which levels.
If you're getting bored with SM, and you're not doing the Cathedral, try that one. The mobs are very easy to "snipe out" with ice lance to get them all gathered up, then you just burn them down based upon your spec (frost in your case). Remember the last room with the boss? You'll easily get half a level just doing that!
Good luck!

You got 300% XP boosting with all the accounts still linked??? Hang on - I thought that if your mage (A) was RAF chain linked to your shamans (B -> C -> D -> E) , you wouldn't get 300% XP if the mage is more than 4 levels above the shamans?! how did you boost low level shamans (or any toons) with a high level mage and still get 300% XP on your shamans?Originally Posted by 'Ellusionist',index.php?page=Thread&postID=155319# post155319
I'm just about to hit 60 with my protPally and want to run other teams up, but thought I had to unlink my main account in order for B,C,D,E to get 300% XP. Am I understanding this correctly?

Because B was partied with C, both B and C got triple XP.Originally Posted by 'gitcho',index.php?page=Thread&postID=155423#post1 55423
And because D and E was partied with B and C, they all got triple XP.
"A" didn't matter, because once I logged back into the newb shaman (instead of the 70 mage on "A") on that account and granted the levels, they were all the same.
A referred B
instead of A referring C, D, and E: I daisy-chained the referrals...
B referred C
C referred D
D referred E.
Hmm, I hope that makes sense!

Dont see the point to boost if you have RAF.. i did azeroth in 2 days play and i slacked ALOT + i had ghost wolf untill level 60 instead of a mount. I bet i could have done it in much less time if i REALY pushed it.
You dont have to do a singel collect quest in azeroth with RAF.
Instance grind sucks for me since it feels so slow on the exp bar...
so far im lvl 42x3 and have 6 hours played, all from boosting.Originally Posted by 'Dominian',index.php?page=Thread&postID=155432#pos t155432
