    Default How are shamans scaling?

So Im curious how Shamans scale post 70.

Im firing back up some wow boxing and had planned on doing 1 pally, 4 shamans again with RAF. However, my brothers telling me that at 80, shaman dps doesnt scale so well and that they are rather low on the DPS meters now. Before I spend the next busting mine and my brothers arse off we want to make sure we can do end game instances.

I plan on making several teams over the next 90 days, but just want to have a good team to start with.

I'd love to hear thoughts on this as well - I just reactivated as well, running pal + shams and am having fun in Kara / ZA etc at the moment post-3.0nerf. Trying to decide if I want to just keep these accounts capped at 70 and work on a different WoltK team.

from 70-74 they are pretty meh, but once you hit 75 you get lava burst, which means a big jump in DPS. 5 x FS & Lava Burst will kill any non-elite. You can also spec for FS to get 35 yards range (40 with pvp gloves) which makes it ideal opener.

At 80 they don't scale so well at the moment, but we are getting some talent changes in the next patch which look very promising.

    Cheers,

thx for the info stealthy, still trying to decide on a team... heh, picking the right setup is harder than setting up the macros.

Exactly. Multiple teams, mixed classes is the way I'm going.

Pally, Druid, Shammy, Hunter, Priest seems to be a good mix for me, as well as Warrior, Lock, Hunter, Druid, Shammy. Both teams cleared UK at 72 without problems.

Nice thing about mixed teams is that if one class get nerfed you don't have to scrap your whole team. Plus, WotLK is pushing us towards mixed classes to get multiple buff/debuff benefits.

    My 2 cents.

This is how WotLK is shaping up for me...

My 5 shammies will still be my primary team, and they are the team I plan to pvp with. IMO they are still offer the best all round capabilities for boxers. My 2nd team will be 5 x Druids - world pvp / sniper / gathering team.

On a 6th account I have a pally and deathknight that I will level to 80. These will be my tanks that i rotate in for PvE heroics - the idea being that all 5 of my shams get geared up. I also have my AH toons on this account, so I can post auctions and such while I'm inbetween flight points.

    Cheers,

here is a link for the changes to the shaman talents for the next patch. seems there are only buffs heading the shamans way. I hope they buff totems a little more.
