Thread: Account Closure

    Default Account Closure

I recently got one of my 5 accounts "closed." I tried to create one of the accounts with a proxy, while the rest were on the same IP. Would that be a fair banish?
    Here's the email I received.
    ***Notice of Account Closure***

    Hello,

This is a notification regarding the World of Warcraft account xxxxxxxxx. Access to this account has been permanently disabled for exploitation of World of Warcraft through associated accounts which have been closed for intended exploitation. While we try to be as lenient as possible in our assessments of the results of exploitation investigations, reoccurring trends in exploitative endeavors on your accounts have ultimately lead to their closure. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

As a result, this account will no longer be able to access any aspect of World of Warcraft. This action has been taken in accordance with the Terms of Use (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html) and our game policies (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01712p). According to the World of Warcraft Terms of Use, to which all players agree when installing World of Warcraft, Section 5, Paragraph C [Rules Related to Game Play] states that you may not do anything that Blizzard Entertainment considers contrary to the "essence" of World of Warcraft.

Any disputes or questions concerning this account action can only be addressed by Account Administration. To learn more about how Account Administration is able to assist you, please visit us at http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/21505.

I do recall there is a limit as to how many accounts you can make with one IP, however I have a static IP, so the smart thing to do was go proxy, unless you all did it a different way.

    Anyway, am I fxcked?

I have not had any problem with running up to 6 accounts on one IP address. I know some folks had issued when creating new accounts but I am not sure about playing.

That's the only thing I can think of I have done "wrong" or loop holing the system, besides having character names that are very identical... But yes, they were newly created accounts. I'm getting really pissed when I read the part where it may take DAYS to respond.

I assume you mean trial accounts?

Lots of times for whatever reason, trial accounts get tagged real fast for what blizz seems to think are "questionable" actions and dont seem to get the same review as a "Real" account. I know there have been at least 5 threads in the past year of trial accounts getting banned accidentally, in fact, there was one guy who got the same trial account banned twice.

Just send in the email, and explain what happened.

However, if your talking about NORMAL, nontrial accounts... then I ahve no idea why you would need the proxy. I play 5 accounts on one ip, and my brother plays 1 on the same Ip. Thats 6 accounts one ip no issues. However, when I made trials a while back, I did have to unplug replug the router for a new ip to create a trial with...so I just assume thats what your talking about.

But there is an automated system that prevents a user from creating too many trial accounts from the same IP address in a short period of time (it's an anti-spammer measure)

In any case, you've done nothing technically WRONG since you can have as many trials as you want, BUT you can see why you were flagged as being suspicious, no?

Why is he creating so many accounts in such little time? Automated system: Must be a spammer! Banstick!
Why is he hiding his IP via a proxy? Automated system: Must be a spammer! Banstick!

If you call the Billing Department, they can help you set up any additional trial accounts once you've been "locked out". Or you could wait for a response from the always-queued-up Account Administration.

Did you buy gold sell gold, or rent an account out?

Sorry but thats the email they send for dealing with gold sellers. Ive played for a longggggggg time, and ive only seen a few "accidents" happen.

Could ask the guys on many other sites what that email means.

Ive created *TONS* of trial accounts, regular accounts... I think at one point I had about 15 or so going, so its not because you tried to create to many. I had my IP locked many times for the "To many trials" error.

The account was made very recently, didn't buy gold, trade accounts etc. The only reason why they would categorize this with account trading would be creating the account with an IP in a different country thousands of miles away. And then in an instant is logged in the US. That's about... it.

Sorry for what? Housing the most nuclear weapons in the entire DOD? Having a mission essential job where say I fuck up equals the lives of a million? Maybe you should be sorry, for ever making that ignorant post.
