Default Talioring gives higher precentage on cloth drops at any skill?

I've looked around other places for an answer to this questiong but I'm just not finding it. I know that with Wotlk taliors get a higher drop rate on cloth drops but is it at only certain skill levels? For instance would a tailor with a skill of 1 get an increased drop rate on Frostweave Cloth? If not at what skill level does a tailor get increased drop rates on Frostweave Cloth?

Since I can mow through mobs pretty quick while boxing I can potentially get tons of Frostweave which is selling extremely nice on my server atm.

Its a spell/recipe you learn (from the trainer or a drop, dont remember) around 375? i think tailoring. The way it works is that the tailor can loot extra frostweave from random mobs, in the regular outdoors its pretty much 1 extra frostweave every 4th-7th mob, sometimes more, sometimes less. In instances mobs can drop x4 - x7 (ie 7 extra frostweave) for the tailor alone, again its not suuuper frequent but when it does happen you do a little happy dance.

The thing that really sucks is that only the tailor can see/loot it, since most of us FFA the loot and only loot on our controller you will easily forget to loot most of it. I occasionally swap to my mage (tailor) window and just look quickly for any sparkles, but usually only after I've killed a bunch of humanoids in a single spot and can check them quickly.

Well I just found the name of the ability "Scavenging " and it says that you have to be level 77 to obtain the quest. It doesn't say however what skill level you need. It clearly is not skill level 1 as I just tried it on one of my shamans.

Says it is a drop and you need 325. In the comments someone says got it off a trainer, but not what level.

Other comments here http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=59390#comments indicate you can get it from a Grand Master Tailor and it requires 325. Comments on thottbot lead me to think it is only the trainer in Borean Tundra for your faction.

Also why would you still use FFA when you now have the Pass on Loot option. That way you loot on a main and the 'alts' only glitter if there is something there for them.

My tailor is only 338 and I just learned "Northern Cloth Scavenging" from a trainer, at level 68. It's not enough to constantl check mobs for extra loot, but enough for when i have a body pile, i check my tailors screen for shinies

This recipe dropped for me somewhere or another. Once my tailor learned it it was able to do extra looting to get more cloth. I was at level 71 I think. Maybe 72. This comes in handy. If you sell the cloth it can net you an extra 50 or 60g for the quest.

I usually try to level my professions for as cheap as possible so I saved up my frostweave cloth and sent my 66 tailor to Warsong Hold with 350 tailoring(that's when you can make bolts of frostweave). I got the Quest at 66 and got the Scavenging skill right away. I also got to 375 just making bolts of frostweave.

BTW is not a real quest, you just accept it and turn it in to the same NPC without doing anything.

How is pass on loot any better than FFA? Does it affect the frostweave drops for the tailor or something? I'll try that out, but I'm pretty sure even still only the tailor(s) are allowed to loot the bonus frostweave.

I generally set to FFA and loot everything on my main, and hand out every few hours stuff to my team (cloth to tailor, meat to cooker, gems/ore to JC, etc), everyone has 18/20 slot bags at this point so bag space tends to be ok. Only time I even have to look at other windows is when quest items drop, otherwise I just keep my eyes on my main tanks window - Pitbull is great for showing when party members are out of range, you can then check your minimap to track back and refollow.

I couldn't figure out how his was working when I first hit Borean until I happened to notice that some dudes that i was killing weren't disappearing as fast as others. Then I noticed that my tailor (a slave) could loot stuff my main couldn't. DOH! I wasted a stack or so of cloth in my ignorance.

    Does the effect stack?
Group 1 = 1 tailor with “Northern Cloth Scavenging”
Group 2 = 5 tailors with “Northern Cloth Scavenging”
Will group 2 get 5 times more “extra” cloth than group 1?

If so will it have to be looted by each toon? Can one toon with “Northern Cloth Scavenging” loot all the “extra” cloth?

Just wondering because I remember people that wanted 5 tailors / 5 flying carpets on there 5 box team. So I would assume there is some one out there that can give us some feed back on this.
