My main name is Avozzo, i came up with it for about 4 years ago, when i searched the armory last time i saw some guys that actually have made chars with that name to. I never thought stuff like that could happen. Some of the chars are mine tho but not all.

I have never, in almost 5 years of using the name, seen someone else with the name Spatulor, but I think that variations on my multibox characters names (Tchak Tchek Tchik Tchok Tchuk) are possible, if not even likely.

Some guy, David Gemmell, ripped off my name "DeathWalker" and wrote a book about it. Using my name to sell his books ... what a scam.

I was horrified when I started seeing Malekyths showing up on other servers. Then I remembered that I ripped the name off, minus one extremely creative vowel change, from the Thor comic. Someone accused me of ripping off the Warhammer Witch King's name, and we had a long friendly discussion about the actual origins of the name, and where both Warhammer and Marvel Comics likely got it. Some Norse saga-singer is rolling in his grave at all these breaches of trust, I expect.

Well, I searched my name just to see if anyone had "common inspiration" since the name Vyndree was 100% original... Prior to that I used a name that was inspired by a minor character in a book (and edited some letters to make it different), but "Vyndree" was something I thought up while staring at a character generation screen in GW.

I wasn't really too shocked about another "Vyndree" until I found the "Vyndre", "Vyndrie" and "Luai" in the guild. That's a bit too creepy to be inspiration.

My "Main" in BC is Velani, a draenei shaman. Of course, she was a "trash alt" that I created just for fun and didn't expect to level past 20, but ended up being my name. There are ten billion Velani's everywhere -- and you know why? It's a name from the WoW random name generator.

There do seem to be a number of Vyndres, Vandrees, etc...when you have a few million people all trying to find names that aren't taken, there tends to be a trend towards repetition even when it seems random/original.

But the sequence of names is pretty hard to chalk up to anything but deliberate imitation.

Sam, I know you have an overinflated sense of self but saying someone ripped off a name like DeathWalker is a bit much. It's such an original name. :whistling:
