I just realized, that my original account is not in my name, because i got it from a friend :\.... so now i have 2 level 50s and 2 level 40s... which didn't take terribly long.. but i am afraid i am going to lose them because i have different names on my accounts.

Sorry, but you need to stop playing the account that does not belong to you and start another second account of your own in your own name. There is no way to transfer toons between accounts which don't have the same owner, in addition, so you are out of luck on the toons on the friend's account.

To do anything else violates your Terms of Service and puts you at high risk of getting both accounts closed. Boxing attracts a lot of attention.

Yeah, i guess i'm gonna have to do that... kind of not real fun to have to start all over

Would it be a good idea to continue leveling so i could maybe boost with one of my hunters

Do you have the CD and key?

I think I just read in the ToS that you can transfer an account's ownership if you have all of that, and both parties are willing. (I think).

You might check with Blizzard support.

Edit - Not sure which one is right...here is a copy from the ToS:

    1. Ownership/Selling of the Account or Virtual Items.
Blizzard does not recognize the transfer of WoW Accounts or Blizzard Accounts (each an "Account"). You may not purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift or trade any Account, and any such attempt shall be null and void. Blizzard owns, has licensed, or otherwise has rights to all of the content that appears in the Game. You agree that you have no right or title in or to any such content, including without limitation the virtual goods or currency appearing or originating in the Game, or any other attributes associated with the Account or stored on the Service. Blizzard does not recognize any purported transfers of virtual property executed outside of the Game, or the purported sale, gift or trade in the "real world" of anything that appears or originates in the Game. Accordingly, you may not sell in-game items or currency for "real" money, or exchange those items or currency for value outside of the Game.
And his is a copy from The EULA (B is the interesting one):

    1. Ownership.
      A. All title, ownership rights and intellectual property rights in and to the Game and all copies thereof (including without limitation any titles, computer code, themes, objects, characters, character names, stories, dialog, catch phrases, locations, concepts, artwork, character inventories, structural or landscape designs, animations, sounds, musical compositions and recordings, audio-visual effects, storylines, character likenesses, methods of operation, moral rights, and any related documentation) are owned or licensed by Blizzard. The Game is protected by the copyright laws of the United States, international treaties and conventions, and other laws. The Game may contain materials licensed by third parties, and the licensors of those materials may enforce their rights in the event of any violation of this License Agreement.

      B. You may permanently transfer all of your rights and obligations under the License Agreement to another only by physically transferring the original media (e.g., the CD-ROM or DVD you purchased), all original packaging, and all Manuals or other documentation distributed with the Game; provided, however, that you permanently delete all copies and installations of the Game in your possession or control, and that the recipient agrees to the terms of this License Agreement. The transferor (i.e., you), and not Blizzard, agrees to be solely responsible for any taxes, fees, charges, duties, withholdings, assessments, and the like, together with any interest, penalties, and additions imposed in connection with such transfer.

Wow, i didn't know about this. Question though... what if you bought it online? Does that mean you can just *give* an account to someone as long as you aren't selling it? And it says you have to permanently delete all copies and installations of the game, would you then be able to play again if you gave your account to someone? Would you need to uninstall, give the account, then reinstall if you wanted to do this?

I wasn't planning on doing this, just wondering ^^

That sounds like it would work, but i do not have the CD keys my friend might have them i'd have to ask him but i doubt it. I wonder how well i could boost 2 characters through instances as a rogue :|... if they were both getting RAF it seems it might be pretty quick. I could use my 70 rogue on my account with my friends name to boost... would only be risking it for a little while and could probably get a good amount of levels out of it. But then i guess i'm risking 3 accounts

From what I hear, RAF is pretty darn fast, so you might just want to do that instead.

With the undiluted joy that is RAF leveling, the maturity of the tools to cheaply software box, the guidance here on doing it effectively, and the fact that the battlechests pay for themselves* (even before you count special Black Friday prices) balanced against the (very high) risk of losing all the accounts?

Get new accounts. Multi boxing generates significant scrutiny from blizzard. As in "run the script to identify all multiboxers that are active right now, then check the name fields on those accounts and spit out the banlist".

And you can boost the first few instances with damn near any high level toon you want.

(*battle chest costs $30 if you look around. You get the 10 day trial from the RAF invite, a free month on the new account, and the veteran account gets a free month, so you get 70 days of playtime across two accounts for the cost of the battlechest. It quite literally pays for itself).

I bet they had to add this in later on for some reason or another... I wonder if this means they would change all the info on the acct including name if you had all of this to back up..

It would be nice to know if it was possible to change the name on the acct. Even tho I think mine are diff names but same last name (same family) so I think I'd be safe

Not sure.. I realized about a month ago one of my accounts uses my daughter's name.
Everything else is in my name (billing etc etc)... I should be ok though seeing as she's only 6 months old right now.. I think I remember having problems regestering multiple accounts to quickly.
