Default Increased gold at 70 for 60-70 quests - changed with Wrath?

    Hello,

This weekend I'm finally getting my new PC and going for 5 accounts.

At the moment, the 5 toons in question are at level 65. Once the PC gets here I was planning to instance level them to 70 then go back and do the 65-70 quests for increased gold (instead of XP)

None of the accounts have been upgraded to WOTLK.

My question is - will I still get the increased gold at level 70 for doing the pre-70 quests? Or is it the case that, now max level is 80, you have to be 80 to benefit from going back and getting more money for doing old quests? Have the gold rewards for quests in 65-70 been normalised since the level cap has been increased?

Hope that makes sense and thanks if anyone can confirm the situation.

If you do NOT activate wrath you WILL get gold at 70. The amount of gold you get will be based upon the quest level. Lower level quest = less gold.

Edit: BEFORE you upgrade to wrath, go do 25 dailies and complete them all. Upgrade to wrath on the accounts and turn them all in. Enjoy your ~280k Exp boost.

Thanks for confirming that and a nice tip on the dailies

No problem, My GM has been leveling his DK and doing dailies on his 70 druid for cash until his DK catches up, then he's going to Northrend on both.

Default you get XP for the level 70 daily now.

you only get 4g for completing a level 70 daily now but you get XP for it.
probably not as much XP as an northend quest but it's not bad, say 12k instead of 20k @ level 73.
the best part about the daily is that you already know how to do it and there is NOBODY out there, you have the whole place to yourself, I finished the dailies in record time skipping collection quests of course.
imagine flying out to the boat and never having to leave the flight path to complete that quest.

There is no "increased gold" for quests at level 70. What you do get is an exp -> gold conversion for all quests turned in if you're at the level cap. So if you don't upgrade to Wrath and quest at 70, you will get the exp -> gold conversion. If you upgrade to wrath, you get the exp. There was nothing changed or "normalized" or whatever.

I believe the equation was... for every 1000 exp you would have received, but do not because you are maximum level, the quest rewards instead +1 gold.

If 70 is the level cap, then the formula gets you extra gold.
But if 80 is the cap, then you receive normal gold and normal experience based on your level vs quest level, without that exp being converted into gold.
