When I first read posts about getting hate whispers and other chatter I was surprised. I never seemed to get any flack for dual-boxing. People rarely even noticed. I even made a short jump to three and didn't seem to suffer any additional abuse.

However, the first day I tried 5-boxing, I got a _ton_ of hate.

So, is that just my luck in not getting noticed for 2/3-boxing or is it generally accepted that the 5+ boxers get the most abuse from the server community?

edit: oh, and i should mention ... people seem to get _really_ nice to me when i offer to sign their guild charters :-)

Well I two-boxed (manually, two-keyboards, two systems) from day 1 of WoW.
No one ever said anything to me.

I upgraded to a third account, and then decided why not go 5 if I'm moving up anyway?
Since then, I get a lot of comments, maybe 3-4 per playing session.
75% are positive, but 25% are negative.
I seem to get a lot of people /spitting on my toons.

I haven´t done much multiboxing yet in Lich King, spent the time leveling a solo-toon with some buddies when the masses
rushed into northrend, the lag and server instability surely would have attracted some nerd rage to my 5-box teams in the beginning

Done some questing now in Howling Fjord, it´s been fairly quiet and calm compared to 2 weeks ago. The only attention
i´ve gotten is the occational someone looking/following a little when 5 gnome mages with conehead-hairdo come
    bouncing and do a drive-by AoE on some moose-flocks (i haven´t been D.E.H.T.A's little H.E.L.P.E.R. at all)
I guess it would have been a bit more annoying to lvl on a PvP-realm, can´t say i regret PvE for multiboxing.

Most people on my PVE server don't seem to care or notice. The most common things I get are people not realizing I have 3 more guys sitting inside the giant moonkin, and they get mad that I didn't invite them to some group for something.
Same here, on Dreanor I havent had a whisper in a long time. Every once in a while a Horde player will ride around me and /chicken me, but that's mostly because my mage and lock are gnomes, and you know how some players are about gnomes. *sigh* The amount of duel spam has also dropped to nothing, which is a huge relief!

I only have 3 right now, and I guess I blend in - no tells, no hate, and I get invites to group a lot. (If I have my chat window open, lately I just turn it off, it's better for the stress levels that way.)
