I've got two teams to 75. Taking it pretty slow and skipping almost all the annoying quests. Mixing it up with some ganking and instances. Avoid burnout with variety and pacing.

Just wanted to make a comment on gear. I know a lot of you seem focused on being at the front of the pack, and that's fine. However I find that I do really well in world PvP (ie: ganking, anti-ganking) and battlegrounds no matter what gear I have. Maybe it's because my main crew is 1xPally and 4xMages but nothing stops us. 80s try to gank us all the time and I kill them right away and usually do a /facepalm. Yes I know gear is important but the game is about having fun and the moment things feel like work it's no longer fun.

I'm trying to do all quests on my teams, but I'm so bored with all this collection quest crap, I'm close to quitting. Wrath leveling content has been awful so far. (now at 76.75)

I got to a point i just gave up @ lvl 74 and cut down from 5 to 3 or 4. Really got so tired with questing (almost all chain quest has one pick-up) and tried grinding instances to level but both are just PITA.On one hand i recently just bought a new comp and damn i didn't realised i've missed out so much on the graphics in wow and playing MB has crappy gfx when running in one comp. On the other hand, the whole reason of WoW is frens and 5 boxing just defeats the purpose to certain extend, especially new ex-pac.

Wow you guys made it to 74? I'm 70.8 and already immensly bored with Northrend. The quests are boring, and you have to do a shitload of quests before you get any decent amount of XP. Maybe I'm used to RAF XP gains, but this is a drag.

I login to my group and play maybe an hour before I can't take it anymore. I'm already contemplating starting another team, but what's the point of that? I'll just wind up hitting Northrend with them and getting bored again.

At least this gives me time to finish some other games I never did - Too Human, Ninja Gaiden 2, another playthrough of KoToR 2....

I made it to 71 before I came to that conclusion! I don't find it boring exactly, just tedious to multibox and not the comfortable happy place that Outland was from the very beginning (and no, can't define what I mean by that ). Maaaan I wish I'd only upgraded one toon to WotLK, as was my original plan, to check it out and see if I wanted to take the plunge. I could have used the level-capped money from SSO dailies to keep my lowbies rolling.

Next time I try Northrend, I'm going to take my guys out of Howling Fijord and give Borean Tundra a shot. Gotta try ... five WotLKs was 'spensive.

The problem with this versus Outland is Outland quest chains typically followed a simple logic - if you are doing a kill quest, the next quest is a kill quest. If you are doing a collect quest, the next quest is a collect quest. Here you have to do both before any other chains open up. It's killer. Add on top of that the whole vehicle issue, and honestly, anyone who makes it to 80 MB'ing deserves to multibox. There's great storylines and epic quests, but you just have to do a lot of one chain to get to them. : / Blizzard is weird - they always seem to take two steps forward and one step back.

Instances + movies = Beat the blues

At 75ish my guys were getting about 300-350k/hr just running Gundruk over and over (skipping bosses and no looting). Its not exciting...not much content...but you can do it while watching movies and at 5hrs/level the time isn't that outrageous. Just a thought for people that are burned out that still want to hurry to 80.

Yeah, the beginnings of Borean and Howling can get dull, but grind through it, because it leads to really fun quests later - I really enjoyed the last 1/4 of Borean (The D.E.T.A quests were fun, and the murlock quests at the end are GREAT) and I'm enjoying Howling Fjord, i'm in that place I can't pronounce in the north, with the Necrolords and such, and i'm enjoying it.

Do what I did - unlock both starting zones, and work your way in to Dragonblight. The DB quests are also fun, I'm enjoying them as well. I just went back and forth between the 2 zones (later 3 with DB), and when I got bored, I'd go empty my bags, restock, and head off to the other. No problems. For every 9 quests that are okay or boring, there's one or two that are insanely awesome!

Some of the dailies you unlock are fun too - at least get to them, and then just log in and do them. Get the pirate ship bombing and flying patrol dailies in Howling Fjord - you'll get a good feel for the zone getting to them, and they're fun as hell.

If you only did 15 quests in Dragonblight, it's no wonder you're out of stuff to do elsewhere...

What I do is look at the "you did this many quests" achievement for the given zone. I don't feel that I have to make the achievement before I cam move on, but I do use it as a gauge as to how far along I am.

In BC and earlier, it seems that only specific quest lines were, well, lines, and mostly you could just pick and choose. However, in WOTLK, many seemingly unrelated quests open up once you're done certain "openers". it's not a traditional "quest chain", it's more like "once you complete these three, A bunch of the main quests at this hub open up" ... and the resulting child quest lines often need to be done to open up "the big one" for the area.

Basically, what it boils down to is try to do ALL the quests you can find in an area. If you need to break up the collection quests, start out another hub area until you get to THEIR collection quests, or go do something else, but keep plugging away. It felt like an awful grind for a while, but once I hit 77, it felt like I blinked and my main was 80. Oh, and you make a pretty good amount of gold while just doing your thing in Northrend. it's maybe not quite as big a jump from Outland to Northrend as the money was when we originally went to Outland from Azeroth, but it's still not bad.

I'm amused that people are saying it's too much of a drag to level up. Collection quests are a drag to be sure, and there are certainly way too many of them. But honestly, you really can't get much more casual in terms of leveling up than WoW. I mean you just won't find a MMO that's willing to allow its players to burn through content at the speed WoW allows it.
