the Blizzard section isn't that big, you need to work on this strat because multiple other bosses Blizzard as well such as the last boss in Violet Hold. You can see the precast of Blizzard so when you do just start to move preemptively so your stuck in it for even less duration, then heal / pew pew. There is no need to rush on the DPS part. It's all about getting a good rythym down.

damn I was hoping for an easy fix. Guess I gotta work on my movement keys, /follow just isnt fast enough. The cast bar of blizzard is like 2 secs long, maybe.

Is there no tactics/strats for pala/4 shamans teams? All tactics seems to be with a induvidual tank?

Well, often tatics don't differ too much, and with some user input and extra thought can be shaped into a tactic that fits your exact set up. Quad shamans with individual tanks often rely on the same tactics as a 5-boxer with pally+4x shammy. The only thing I think has a major impact on tactics on some bosses, is if your shamans are four elementals or three elementals and one resto.

However, in all cases you should be able to create a fitting strategy for your set up and your personal needs, based on the tactics given.

An alternate way to deal with this thing is by pre-emptively spreading out, so when blizzards hits, it only ever hits one char.

I personally never bother with this (out of lazyness), unless the fight is tough or intensive healing wise and I know I can't always rely on having the time to move all chars at once(ie. I have to be able to heal at any given moment).

By only having to move one char at the time, the other three or free to dps/heal. It's a bit more intensive, but it might take off a LOT of strain and eventually making things a lot easier.

Its (imo) a lot easier to do the heroics with a seperate person controlling the tank, and even a seperate person controlling the healer. Controlling all five yourself is do-able, but for many heroics it is indeed a lot harder. I've done both -- I've taken my 3 ele shamans and just found a tank/healer and breezed through heroics like UK where I just cannot (still) do it when I solo control all five.

I would suggest for anyone having difficulty with heroics, which really is gonna be almost everyone trying to 5-box, just try to do a few with your tank solo, pugging the other spots. Get some badges and gear and do solo Naxx/VoA/etc with your tank, until he gets a lot of rep/gear. The heroics tend to get a ton easier once your tank is sitting at over 25k hp unbuffed and (obviously) over 540 defense (higher the better) and high dodge/block rating/parry. Block rating is a good stat to try and max since it is currently not subject to diminishing returns, and many bosses tend to have huge physical melee spike damage.

I've found the easiest heroics to be Halls Of Lightning (first 2-3 bosses only), Gundrak (all), and Nexus (all). I personally would skip UK until the tank is geared up a bit, the first boss can be very luck based and hits crazy hard.

Novos the Summoner was definately the hardest boss to get the right strat down with.

How do you guys move out of the blizzard in time while making sure to keep your guys healed? I'm having a tough time doing that.

I have a mouse button to strafe left and right, but it's still a bit too slow. I'll move, but then my guys die, or I won't move in time.

edit: it's tough for me to notice others health going down quickly. And it's also tough for me to heal a player from my tank, I don't have hotkeys setup to heal a specific player yet.

I just did heroic Drak today for the first time, and I just couldn't do Novos -- as you found, the Blizzard just would eat me up before I could really react fast enough -- I could either choose to constantly chain heal or try to DPS, lol.

The nice thing is you can totally skip Novos and do the rest of the instance! You won't get the full heroic achievement for finishing the dungeon, but at least you can do the last boss (and the giant dino).
