I think OS will be easly boxed, just need the gear to try it, my pally is ready, my one shaman is too, but my other 3 are not....yet![]()
Instance: Naxxramas 10 man
Box: 4x Ele shaman
Gear level: some heroic blues/epics
Difficulty: Hard(learning curve+wiping fests) to Problematic(Serious issues with certain bosses and multiboxing)
Guide:
Death Knight Wing
Plague Wing
- Instructor Razuvious - Easy fight, your role is to mainly dps and spot heal. Aggro is not an issue. For multiboxing it is a tank and spank, attempting to do the Mind Controls is too much effort and can easily be done by someone else.
- Gothik the Harvester - Easy - Medium fight, You'll either be on the live side or the undead side. It is split into 2 sections. I did undead - our focus fire multiboxing is key for this, we are able to demolish the adds in no time. You'll probably have a tank or offtank with you, make sure he stays topped off and go to town. This fight didn't have many issues at all.
- Four Horsemen - Hard fight - Pretty awesome fight, and the strat is completely reworked for multiboxing. You'll need to be paired up with a tank, unless your 5 boxing then it is even better for you. You need to start on the boss that does Meteors first, DPS hardcore, blow all cooldowns. At 3 marks you'll need to switch with the other tank handling the other melee boss. This is recovering time, go easy and maintain mana/ hp. Once you switch back blow up the Meteor boss. If he is not down by the second wave, he will definitely be down by the third. The 2 bosses in the back can easily be held off by 1 healer, their damage is really low. Once the first boss goes down, the fight is basically won as managing the final 3 is easy.
Abomination Wing
- Noth the Plaguebringer - Easy - Medium, Blow up the adds, if you can decurse make sure his curse is taken off immediately. It's a pretty straightforward fight.
- Heigan the Unclean - Very hard, This fight will require you to be able to move all of your characters at once in a presise movement. This fight is nicknamed dance dance revolution, it is doable though and your multiboxing awesomeness shines through upon completion of this fight
The only part of the fight that matters is when he does eruption, where there is a certain section that does not get hit with the damage, and you need to be constantly moving with it ahead of time. Auto Follow will not work on this stage it's too slow! It may take a few attempts for practice, so ask your raid to be patient, but you'll get it.
- Loatheb - Easy - Medium - If you play 4x Elemental Shamans or something similar then this fight is a shining moment for multiboxing. Besides making sure you pick up the spore which gives you 50% additional crit (it's a big spore that has only 1k hp, stand next to it and kill it and you get the buff. Your chain heals are the bread winner. You'll receive a debuff that causes all heals to do nothing. You only get a small time window of about 4-5 seconds or so to actually get any heals off before it is applied again. When the debuff has 2 seconds left begin casting chain heal on the tank, right after that goes off cast chain heal on yourself to top your characters off from the AoE. I did not try placing down any healing stream totems, but they may work as well. Other than that, make sure your DPS'ing as much as possible.
I hope these strats help you guys, if you have any further questions let me know. Kaynin was kind enough to provide the Spider Wing, so I left that one out
- Patchwerk - Medium, this fight all depends on how much DPS your raid has. If he enrages after the time limit your done, so you need to make sure your doing everything possible to Maximum DPS. That means potting up, eating food. Whatever it takes. Make sure you have Mana Pots or that your raid composition has insane mana regen. Myself, I stood right next to him so my Thunderstorms will also do damage instead of just mana regen. If you do this strat make sure you click off any hp buffs so you don't run the chance of receiving Hateful strikes, and just a reminder DPS DPS DPS
- Grobbulus - Hard - Very Hard, this fight is not a multiboxing fun fight. He will constantly place a disease debuff on a random person in the party giving them 7 seconds to run away from the raid before it goes off. It does quite a bit of damage but most importantly leaves a poison field on the ground that starts out small and then expands so it's crucial you run to the correct spots to drop this off. It can happen where your characters keep getting called and you need to be able to individually control them and run them away, while still maintaing decent DPS in order to drop the boss before it gets out of hand. This fight will definitely not be easy for most, and you may have to drop a few characters if it just isn't working out too well.
- Gluth - Medium - Assist the kiter on the adds that constantly spawn from the sewer type thing by strategically dropping earthbind totems. Once decimate goes off ( drops everyone's hp to 5% ) heal up a bit and then go to town aoeing the adds. Each one that reaches Gluth heals him, rinse and repeat.
- Thaddius - OMGWTFBBQ hard. I didn't get a chance to try this out post WOTLK, but I did do this fight a longgg time ago with 3 Mages when 60 was the max level, and again with 4 Shamans when 70 was the max level. If you have mages this fight is pretty easy, as moving your characters back and forth depending on if they have positive or negative charge isn't too much of an issue because simply pressing the Blink spell allows you to be in the correct location. If one of your characters has a different charge than where they are suppose to be you become a huge liability and start damaging the raid most likely causing a wipe. The more characters you are boxing here the more difficult it becomes. The debuff goes off every 30 seconds, you have 5 seconds to identify on all of your characters if they are still standing in the right spot and if not move. Moving is usually about 15-20 yards on the other side of him. You'll need to work on a strategy to identify location - identify if they need to stay or go, and then execute if they need to move by pressing auto run and switching to the next. A Perfect place to practice on this is Heroic Mechanar, the first boss does the same ability. At 80 this boss shouldn't be too bad and will provide huge insight in what it takes to accomplish.
Other options for positioning include the two platforms you start out on damaging the 2 minibosses ( which are a joke ), you can leave 1 on each platform right on the edge closest to Thaddius and still be in range to DPS. This frees up a lot of workload of having to position all of your characters. Again hopefully your raid will have patience as this is one of those times when multiboxing precision is extremely important.![]()

ss2 can we see your armory links? I'm curious how well you are equipped. Also do you use the FTL system and just keyclone? Thanks!
Instance: Obsidian Sanctum
Box: 4x Elemental Shaman
Gear level: Pre-heroic blues/Heroic gear
Difficulty: Smooth, no one died, neither on any of the drakes.
Guide:
Trash packs are easy, the packs of two big Dragonkins are simply tank and spank. The other packs you have to run out of reign of fires as well as move away from orbs, however if you go max range, doubt you will nitice the orbs. Both types of trash packs are fairly simple.
Left side drake (I forgot the names )
2 dps a tank and a healer go into the portal he spawns to deal with the add. You as a 4-boxer should not be one of them. Keep on the boss, spread out and have individual movement keys to move out of the rings he spawns, if you stay in to long you get a fair bit of damage. However, this is perfectly healable by yourself as well and happens in intervals. So make sure the healer that stays on the boss just focuses on the tank and not on you. From your point of view is pretty tank and spank then.
Far side drake
This is exactly the same tactic for you as last, however now only a tank and a healer go into the portal on aoe tank adds, no need to kill the adds apparantly. Spread out, ove out of the red circles.
Right side drake
Wee, portal fun! Everyone but a tank and a healer have to go into the portal to rape the add in the portal, this means you too! It's hardly problematic tho. Position yourself close to the portal to begin with. Wen on the boss it is again spread out and move out of the red circles, exactly the same as the other drakes. And in the portal is a tank and spank add. If you find yourself far from the portal the first time because you didn't know where it spawns (it spawns slightly on the entrance side of the boss by the way) just use ghost wolf form.
Sartharion
This is a remarkably easy boss, especially for when having a multiboxer. When wall of flames appear, move to the center of the two walls. Don't take the wall, someone in my raid did once and he needed tons of healing to live. If you would get it on all four it will probably be a wipe, even if you chainheal through it. It's like a bwl shadowflame dot kinda thing it seems. Anyhow it is perfectly avoidable. Occasionally adds spawn, just gib the adds and continue on the boss, tactics on wowhead said to aoe the adds, I found single target dps as a shaman is more effective as they die quickly. If there are spawning a bit more then maybe AoE.
At 10% he will spawn a ton of adds. Loads. Make sure you have Elemental Mastery and Thunderstorm cd's up for this part, start single target dpsing them using chain lightning the first few secs of the spawns until you are certain they all spawned, and BOOM, drop earth elementals if the raid is getting too much to handle, although I found they do little damage and we didn't have too much trouble with it, finish off the boss and grats to my first 22 slot bag! Nothing else of interest dropped. :<
Slowly crawling back towards the experience that is Multiboxing Mayhem
Instance: Vault of Archavon
Box: 4x elemental shaman
Gear level: pre-heroic blues/heroic blues
Difficulty: Smooth, no deaths, but still annoying.
Guide:
Adds make the roof cave in and you have to move out of it. Don't pull two trash mobs, we did once, and we barely had a place to stand as almost everything started caving in. :P Could be troublesome that way so better to do one by one.
Archavon
He's quite a tank and spank like boss, he does two abilities of concern. He throws rocky spikey stuff at someone doing 200-300 damage per spike, it's a lot of spikes tho. But not too troublesome. As well as some cloud where you have to move out off. Ideally it is best to spread out for this fight. I hardly did myself tho, I chainhealed myself up when I got damaged and that seemed to do fine too. The place if a bit small and it was annoying to reposition. Still, next time I'll know how the fight goes and will try positioning right from the start so I can more easily spread out to minimize damage on the raid. Other then this all, he is easy loot.
Slowly crawling back towards the experience that is Multiboxing Mayhem
Hah, I'm on Grobbulus myself now. We're all doing it wrong still tho. :P The whole place is litters with green goo by the time the boss is 50% haha. Mmh, we'll work on better positioning the gems. Also, you can cleanse the gen for less damage, but when you do the green stuff spawns where you are cleansed.
Slowly crawling back towards the experience that is Multiboxing Mayhem
that might be a better strat, where you constantly stand next to the green drop off point and move forward with it, if you get the debuff, just have it cleansed and move up. Have to have a raid work with you though.

Instance: The Oculus - Normal Mode
Box: Prot Warrior, 4x Ele Shaman (ex. "Prot Paladin, 4x Ele shaman")
Gear level: Warrior has mostly crafted gear, Ele shammies have quest gear.
Difficulty: Tank and Spank.
Guide:
Drakos the Interrogator
This fight was extremely easy mode. Simply let Drakos pull everyone too him and just tank him in the middle of your dps.
Bombs almost never hit me and even when they did I just simply chain healed through it.
Instance: The Oculus - Normal Mode
Box: Prot Warrior, 4x Ele Shaman (ex. "Prot Paladin, 4x Ele shaman")
Gear level: Warrior has mostly crafted gear, Ele shammies have quest gear.
Difficulty: Brute Force tank and spank.
Guide:
Varos Cloudstrider
This fight is designed to have everyone be very mobile. Unfornately with 5 toons thats just unrealistic. My chosen method for this guy was to simply tank and spank with a side of all out brute force. Drop totems, pull the boss to the group and go ALL OUT for the first 15 seconds of the fight. After that the spheres and the beam start hitting the group and its simply a matter of nuke, nuke, group heal, nuke, nuke, group heal. Downed on 2nd try.
Edit: Whoops, just noticed that this thread was for Heroics. Oh well. :P
