Default Boxing Brought Me Back to WoW

Hey all, found your forum through some google searches. Dual-boxing has recently renewed my interest in WoW, as having double the fire power, and triple the xp for a good bit were two things that I couldn't pass up once I learned about them. I'm limiting myself to two toons at the moment, as I don't have the equipment or the funds to go beyond that, but so far I'm having a blast. My plan is to level two priests to 60, grant my old main (lv 45 rogue) to 60 and an old warlock from 14-30ish; then level two mages to 60, grant the warlock to 60, then two hunters to sixty, grant a pally to 30, then two druids to 60, and top off the pally. Doing this I figure I can get all (but a shaman) to 60 relatively quickly on my main account.

Introduction and basics aside, I have two questions to pose in this thread:

    1) Is the above plan sound? Am I misunderstanding something that would prevent that from running smoothly?
    2) Currently working on the pair of priests, and both are shadow (though only 26 each), but I really like Holy better. I was wondering if boxing a shadow/holy combination was a viable option? Either both could focus on the mobs, or I could let the shadow DPS and keep him healed with the Holy, maybe?

Like I said, I'm new to this, but boxing has really made me look at WoW with fresh eyes. Thanks in advance for the warm welcome :]

Me too, mostly because it opens up significantly more content than you can get at solo, while keeping complete control over when and how long you play.

Plan is sound, although the math may be a tad off. I'm not sure and had a long day so not going to check it in detail. Main thing to know is you get one grantable level per two levels you gain during RAF. On the first level up, the rogue is going to take up what, 15 of 29 points. Leaving 14 for the warlock, who you should probably level above 30 before granting much since it's just REALLY easy to do with 3x XP.

In duo, most things are viable. It helps if both can do meaningful DPS, and it helps if you pick your classes to complement each other by adding damage mitigation or healing or through abilities that contribute to the other's damage output (buffs, debuffs, or complementary procs such as chill & freeze for two frost mages). Shadow/Shadow should work fine for the priests, it's like leveling a single shadow priest which is fairly easy but with more DPS and eventually with higher health/mana gain.

I'd say just suffer through the next 4 levels 'til vampiric embrace, then you can heal yourself from damage done and keep the higher dps.

Edit: plus shadowform is a good damage reduction/ dps boost at 40

Thanks for the welcomes. Thought I'd post the basic setup and macros I'm using, any suggestions on what may be more productive would be appreciated:

Main on the left screen, slave on the right. Both priests.
"Big" button found in one of the "macro basics" threads bound to the [`] key.

Then, on the main action bar I've bound variations of the following:

    #showtooltip
    /cast [help] Renew
    #showtooltip
    /cast [harm] Shoot
    #showtooltip
    /cast [nocombat] Shoot

On the following keys, based on the above conditionals:

    1: Shoot/Renew
    2: Holy Fire/Flash Heal
    3: SW: P/Lesser Heal
    4: Devouring Plague/Heal
    5: Holy Nova/Cure Disease
    6: Smite/Dispel Magic
    7: Mind Flay/Fear Ward
    8: Mind Blast
    9: Mana Burn

Basic combat has the main target, slap [`] for slave assist, Holy Fire, SW:P, Devouring Plague, Wand, Wand, Wand, Holy Nova

In this pattern, I'm running around 15-20 mobs without drinking, assuming no unexpected adds or spawns.
The Holy Nova at the end finishes off whatever manages to get to me and heals both priests in one step.
When a mob dies, one toon gains Spirit Tap, and is thus a little ahead in mana than the other. I find that Spirit Tap generally alternates between the two, coincidentally. Could just be interpreter bias.

That said, any suggestions to improve productivity?

How are you linking your accounts?

OLD to two new ones? or OLD to NEW to NEW?

edit: nevermind, don't know why I misunderstood your post :P
