Default Just a note on poor FPS

    Hi Guys,

I had this problem with my FPS since patch 3.+. It constantly was around 30 both with two or more open instances of wow. Also when playing only one box I had a low FPS.

Initially I thought it was the cooling of my Geforce 7950GX2 which was poor, so I added another two coolers to my tower.

I finally cracked the problem yesterday. It was X-perl Unit frames which diden't perfom well anymore. I stopped this mod, and now its constant at 60 fps. no matter where im at or what im doing.

Even though its obvious, remember to try and not load any mods to begin with if you have problems with wow performance.

    Just my little advice.

That's very interesting. I have been having these problems on all three machines, and they all use xperl..I'll have to give that a shot tonight.

I'm just not sure what I'll do without my unit frames though!

    Thanks for posting this info!

I use the latest version of X-Perl and don't encounter any issues.

Maybe the real lesson is to update your addons...hmm.

This may not be the solution for me as I updated all of mine last night.

I wanted to post my results for my addon tests.

(please note, my computers suck so your results may vary)

By disabeling Questhelper, I gained 10-15 FPS
Recount was really hard to see, but it appeared I gained another ~3 FPS by turning it off.

    Atlas Loot - no change
    Omen - no change
    Jamba - no change
Xperl - no change (I don't use any of the raid items, so that wasn't tested)
    Macaroon - no change
    Tomtom - no change
    Lightheaded - no change

My X-perl was out of date, apparently it diden't get updated using the curse client. I have uninstalled the mod, and not installed it again.

Im gonna go with a total different layout when I get the time to set it up. Some of you guys got excellent layouts! Very inspiring.
