I don't know why you guys actually do less when playing multiple classes than you would for just one. I don't feel good about the thought of using the ability to multibox to essentially reduce each character to a few skills on one button without the ability to devise a case-specific plan. It just seems to go against the point of having a multi-class setup.

I agree. Having said that my team is still succeeding quite well with basically a set of healer macros and one, all purpose DPS button, and a few tank macro's.

Reason? My team is 60 atm with a 70 lock demonology specced. Most of my fights, even "boss" encounters have been made trivial by the lock and his pet. I'll have to "learn up" to what you describe pretty soon as I start hitting Outland instances. Looking forward to it. It is a bummer right now realize I'm barely using the abilities of my disparate classes.

Don't take my short answer as it being the only keys I have set up.

I have MANY other keys/macros/groupings of spells, but they are all situational and organized to how I like to play. But I'm not going to try and type them all out to answer a simple question. :P

I have five classes, but I am no way a pro. I have only just started my instances in Outland (not even Heroic yet) as a MBer. It was an eye opener that's for sure. I really learned how much I actually sucked as a MBer, lol.

That being said, I have both macros that have mixed spells for all classes and some for specific classes. Basically similar to what everyone else posted.

First, my main is a prot paladin. So, I have the standard single player hotkeys/macros for this toon.

For my other 4 toons (shaman, druid, priest, mage - currently all DPS until I switch my priest to Holy)
    a) A DPS spam macro for my DPSers - I think I may make this into 2 macros, one for instances other for questing/trash. Currently using both /castrandom or /castsequence in the macros depending on the class. I am continually refining and trying to make these better.
    b) Heal macros for each one of the five characters and others (PoH, /targettarget macro on both my shaman and priest bound to the same key)
    c) utility macros - several of these, as each class obviously has unique spells - I think this is what you wanted to know, so for each unique spell I have (or will have) a hotkey (with or without a macro). For example, polymorph, shackle undead, psychic scream, ice block each have separate keys bound to them.

I use a G15 which has 18 programmable keys on the left side. Most are bound to this (atm).
I have 2 computers, each with separate keyboards and mice - I havent taken advantage of this yet (i.e., I could use the slave keyboard independently). However, for some spells I just click the mouse in the proper windows (e.g., rez).
I am a "PVE'er". PVP would be different or at least have more macros.

Also, many people run the healer (if you have one) as the main so they can reduce the micromanagement through hotkeys since the majority are likely to be healing macros. I don't think I would be talented enough to run a main healer with a tank slave.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Cheers.

For the most part I have two buttons I use for the majority of basic attacks for all my teams.

One button I use for DPS such as lightning bolt/chain lightning for my shamans...shoot for my hunters, shadow bolt for my locks, starfire/wrath for my druids, etc.
Another button is for DoTs or just quick instant shots.
Curse of Agony/Corruption for locks, shock for shamans, moonfire/insect swarm for druids.
I have a melee button, mount button that is the same for all my teams/classes.

I have 5 teams so I found I need to try and make some kind of similarity.

I think casting time should be considered when you are trying to match up spells/casts for each class. You wouldn't want to mix a spell that takes 3 seconds with a locks instant curse of agony. It can take a bit to get things working smoothly but you need to research each spell and what it does as well as the cast time.
