    Default Problems with SM :(

    Hi,

i went there with my lvl 70 paly and RAF chars. Ok, i park the toons at the entrance and start walking through the instance to pull everything, but very often one or 2 mobs run straight to the entrance to kill my toons ....thats realy bad
Someone got a tip for me ??

I generally do the bottom 1st then the 2nd tier and the cathedral separately. May not be the most efficient, but then again my toons don't die.

When I enter the instance I kill the first 5 mobs and then park the RAF's near the entrance to the courtyard out of LoS of any patrolling mobs. I then run and gather the whole courtyard, nuke em down.

I then move the toons to either of the 2 stairwells and gather the entire top courtyard...rinse and repeat.

I then open the cathedral door. I leave the toons on the edge of the grass right at the base of the stairs. I run in gather as many as I can which usually leaves 1 or 2 stragglers and bring them to where I opened the door and burn them down.

With this method my toons have never pulled aggro and they're never too far to receive XP.

when do you notice them attacking your toons?
are they mobs that have been attacking you already? or are they new mobs that came outta nowhere?
are they targeting your toons because you havent sufficiently grabbed aggro?
did you bubble? dont ever bubble with them in sight. always keep them out of sight if you plan on a bubble.

Make sure you're doing some sort of damage to them instead of just "run-pulling". I've never played a pally past level 4, so I don't know what instants or aoe's they have for pulling, but they need to be damaged so they don't aggro your lowbies.

When I leveled my team... to do cathedral:

With your people in the instance doorway, go clear the hallway with your main. Run your people to the last torches before the entrance into the courtyard. If they are very low level you will potentially pull some mobs right near the doorway, so those should be your first priorities. Leaving a consecration ticking in the doorway should get anybody who runs through right away. With them standing there you should be able to kill anybody on the lower courtyard.

After that, run them into the fountain and have them stand right by the waterfall on the lower level. Go upstairs to the 2nd tier and you should be good to kill everything. Once again watch for the pats on either side of the stairways because your guys will probably aggro them. Clear those out and you should be good.

Ive never had any trouble with body pulling and holding aggro that way, as long as my guys were far enough back. If your whole group runs up to a mob, your lower guys have a higher aggro radius than your main so they will aggro fisrt and the mob will run through your main.

Anyways, thats what worked for me.

I always just leave the lowbies just outside the entrance until after I pull the lower courtyard then once I have all the mobs on my pally I run them in.

i also turn on retribution aura a little past 75% of of the pull. one reason being i dont want one or two mobs dead from reflect damage before i get back, plus having more armor with devotion aura redusces damage and keeps me alive longer, once im almost at the entrance, consecrate, bubble, healx2, run into the hallway, consecrate, holy shield, hammers, judge. keep back to the wall. ding, collect loot, reset.

I kill the first mob by the entrance, he pulls if the lowbies are under 31. I leave the lowbies at the entrance. Then I get upper and lower courtyard and bring them back to the hallway, get your back to the far wall - to the right when you come back in. If casters run off and start shooting you from far go back into the courtyard entrance way to LOS them back to you to kill them. Grab the little guys and go to the fountain in the upper courtyard and leave them there. Then do the inside abnd pull the boss then go right out side the door and into a corner kill, loot. Done. You can split the courtyard into 2 pulls, upper and lower to see how much you can handle at first. I would still leave the noobs by the entrance and come back to the hallway, best tools for LOS and clumping the mobs together. The noobs are also far enough away for you to bubble safely.
