Can't login to second account on same server. (WoW)

Ok here goes. I am new to multi-boxing and my question is pretty simple.

My friend just signed up to WoW on a recruit a friend membership.
Currently it's a trial account since he can't buy the game til the end of the week.

Since he works and goes to school I offered to dual box the accounts to help build up
the characters a little faster.

(He used to play but gave his account to another friend so he has to start over)

Ok, now here's my problem and I'm hoping you guys can answer it.
When I try to log into both accounts on the same server. The
game won't connect on the second account.

In other words. We are on say "Server 1" when I log "Account 1" into "Server 1"
it works just fine. But when I then try to log "Account 2" into "Server 1" it won't
connect and just keeps going back to the realms list asking me to choosing a realm.

It's weird because I can log onto both accounts but not on the same realm. I'm not sure
if that makes any sense to you guys but I'm hoping someone knows what I'm talking about
and has a solution.

If I missed something in FAQ just point me there but I couldn't find anything pointed to
my specific problem and was wondering if it's something specific to Warcraft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok checked it out on my brother's laptop and it works fine there.
Does anyone know what it would fail to connect to a second account on my desktop but not
my brother's laptop?

This could lead to one or both of your accounts getting banned.

Not sure about your problem though, sorry.

Getting yourself banned for account sharing aside, are you playing on a locked realm your friend doesn't have a character on?

Well I partially figured it out. For some reason my desktop computer will not let me login to two accounts on the same server.
My brother's laptop will and so will his desktop but my desktop computer stops at the realmslist and every time I choose the realm (not locked btw)
it sits there for a second saying "Connecting" then it boots me back out to the realmslist.

It's the weirdest freaking thing. It's not the Zonealarm since I tried it with it turned off. Right now I'm completely stumped.
I can dual box it on my brother's system but his mouse and keyboard suck and I'd just assume be able to sit in my room and
listen to my music instead of his.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Do ou have WoW in two separate folders? If not, copy your folder to a second WoW folder and start each account from a separate folder.

you are probably trying the log in using the same account twice, by accident. My sure you log in your friends account the second time, instead of yours.

Tried with two folders and it has the same result. As for logging into the same account twice. I've made sure and it still won't login.

I am completely stumped by this. I can dual log into WoW on my brother's desktop and our laptop but not my desktop.
So it's something specific to mine. I actually installed WoW on my system but the others are just copies of the original install.
Is it possible that the registry is causing the problem?

Sounds like you have ip masking issues. I used to have the same problem when I multiboxed starcraft. Could enter two different games, but not the same.

This is your problem rigth? you can't enter the same server but you can enter different ones? What version of windows do you use and what service pack?

Its because one account is a trial, I used to have the same issue myself. Long time though and I can't remember how I got past it, but I suspect it was using another PC for trial account. :S
