My install was a nightmare. Well, at least a bad dream. I have 6 accounts, 1 main 5 linked minus the WTF. WotLK wanted to install over one of the linked accounts, not the main. When I told it no, it got mad at me and wiped out the entire directory. After we wrestled around it decided that it would let me install where I wanted and not in User/games whatever. When I launched wow (from where I thought it was) I got some crazy you are missing crap errors. Looked them up, tech support forums said repair, if that fails reinstall. well repair failed so I said screw it. But! It tricked me. I had said to go to Program Files (x86) where wow was but it went to regular program files instead. which was odd because it used the Patches to update from (x86) in regular Program Files. So I saved off all my WTFs and my main Interface and wacked all my original directories. Popped in the DvD again to reinstall, got no option to install, just play. So I played and it worked and was like WTF (not the folder). I even restored my folders and launched from the folder and got errors again. I dug around a finally figured out what had happened. I still have no idea how it got all of my orginal wow and tbc stuff to the program files from (x86). I ended up just redoing my links in there and dumping in my config folders. In the process, somhow my Addons folders ended up set up correctly but their subdirectories were all empty so I had to reinstall all my addons, I am glad I keep an archive of them. Finally get up and running after the 2 hour epic MS/Blizzard battle and go to log in and hit 500+ queues for a 45 minute wait to log in. Le sigh.
