    Umm...no. To get down Brutallus before enrage timer, his 10 million hp in 6 mins you needed around 27k dps, which was hard with t6 geared people. Vael has no where near that amount of hp, and I managed to kill him the other week before our tank blew up, so it's very possible, and should be easy at lvl 80. This was in a raid mind you, but still lol, most of them were nubs and thre was no way we hit that high.

    The previous opened EU PVE Blade's Edge realm was like followng:

    9/7/2008 realm opened and scepter madness started
    15/9/2008 players finished War efforts
    17/9/2008 first guild completed scepter
    20/9/2008 Gong! and gates opened

    the rules were following:
    - war efforts auto complete after 3 months or when players gather it (whichever comes soon)
    - after completing effort there is 5 days waiting time after which gong can be banged
    - after banging there is 10 hours war (anyone with scepter can use it an get mount and title as well)
    - realm opens for paid transfers after 6 months or after 10 hours war (whichever comes soon)

    The worst part is probably the Elementium Ore (2-3 each week from bwl), so about 4-5 weeks if fully cleared and then the timed BWL run.

    These realms (Azuremist and Terrokar) seems much less populated than Blade's Edge was, so probably you have to wait until the War Efforts autofinish. (24/1/2009) and then 29/1/2009 the gong will be ready.

    Good luck with that, i'm sure you can do it.

    You are correct my numbers are off, I calculated to the first BA explosion.

    Brutallus you have 6 minutes to beat, and he has ~7.3M HP now post-nerf, which gives you just north of 20K sustained raid DPS. Which is actually pretty easy now.

    Vael by comparison has ~1M hp and will the do the following: every 15 seconds cast Burning Adrenaline on a random mana user, and every 45 seconds cast Burning Adrenaline on whoever has the highest threat.
    15 seconds in, cast Burning Adrenaline on a random mana user
    30 seconds in, cast Burning Adrenaline on a random mana user
    45 seconds in, cast Burning Adrenaline on the highest threat

    So after 35 seconds you lose a random mana user, after 50 seconds you lose another random mana user, and after ~60 seconds you lose your tank. I will assume you lose 2 Hunters to the first two BA. Then your tank blows up.
    This gives an effective ~1.3x multiplier to Vael's HP since you are losing DPS during the fight, however, the double damage from BA should make up for it.

    So, you will need ~17K sustained DPS, which is probably reachable.

    First of all i just want to say huge thanks to everyone that has put input on this, its giveing alot of motivation to see it through.

    After my bigish post last night i went away and went through all the whole quest chain and decided to make a small shopping list of everything that needs to be done. and this is what i got... Keeping in mind that im on a very new server if theres anything i want im going to have to get it myself


    To cover all the mats for different items i need characters with the following proffessions, at the moment i currently have nothing on any of my characters ive been to busy raceing to 60 before the RAF link ended which i just managed to do.



    • complete attument of the core quest for each toon (one brd run)

    • UBRS key needed (farm LBRS for all the key stones)

    • BWL attuenement for all toons (one UBRS run)

    • 315 skinning (to skin ony for the scales for the cloak)

    • 300 leatherworking (to make the cloak)

    • 300 tailoring (to make the item needed for the cloak, also need better bags on my toons most are running off 1 10 slot and the backpack)

    • 250 mineing (thorium bar for arcanite bar, also to level engineering)

    • 250 engineering (to make the goblin rocket fuel)

    • 250 alchemy (transmute arcanite bar, no cooldowns now)

    • 250 herbalism (to level alchemy, also mats needed for goblin rocket fuel)


    • kill ony for 3-5 resets one reset per 5 days (need 10 scales possible 5 resets ~ 25 days)

    • make 10 cloaks for the raid so that BWL can be cleared (one for each member will try bwl soon as i have enough for the tanks and a healer)


    • MC farm till all members are revered for rune water (douse runes to summon major domo and raggy)


    • 300 fishing (im sure i saw somthing about needing to summon somthing in ZG might be wrong tho will check this one out)

    • 300 cooking (needed to cook the 500 pound chicken)


    • Broodlord head needed (starts the chain)


    • farm 16800 silithid Carapace fragments (for the brood rep around 4200 - 5600 kills)


    and on top of all that getting the characters to 80

    i seriously doubt (hope) that noone even really seriously attempts the scepter quest, what happened on BE upset a hell of alot of people even more so when the scarab lord transfered soon as it was over. I think its made alot of people that are atempting this a guild very selfish and as you can see its alot of work needed so i think peoples selfishness is going to be what slows down the rest of the realms progression to getting a gong. I had thaught about offering out my help as a service to other guilds that are interested in getting the scepter at a cost, will help a great deal with the ever expensive new skills and mats in wrath. I have no intension of ringning the gong early i would rather wait til transfers are open and fingers crossed increase the realms population as someone has said its not very high, i mean im 9 of about 30 level 60-70s on the realm and im not exactly leveling all day and night. So i think the realm will need the gong as an incentive to get more people to transfer over.

    Please continue to discuss everything, i really need to make a calender to see what levels and stages i need to be at in order to time them accordingly to the instance resets. It would be smart idea to get skinning up right away and start farming ony asap.

    Isnt there a debuff once you lose control of the orb too , keeping you from controlling it again for like 2 minutes ? I remember a lot of yelling years ago in vent "i lost the orb, SOMEONE PICK IT UP"

    Ya, you have to keep mobs off the orb controller. At least that's how it use to be.

    My guild just 15 manned BWL and 3 of the toons were my 3 shams. Was a blast and we 1 shot every boss. Suppression room gave us some trouble and we had a bug where infinte adds spawned after we downed razorgore.

    whats going to be the fastest way to level up to 80 with 10 characters

    atm all are standing 61-64

    options are
    level death knight or paladin to 80 and then group boost each group accordingingly to 80
    make 2 teams of 5 and quest to 80
    make 2 teams of 5 and instance grind to 80
    level them 1 by 1 (err not going to happen)

    please any input would be great

    Oddly enough we got the same bug. We ended up downing the second boss with continuous adds spawning lol. Decided it would be best to zone out and reset em after that :P
