Default Monitor Blanks out / SSD Not showing up in computer

So i currently have two issues: One is my 2nd monitor is blanking out right as windows gets to the splash screen the monitors loses a signal and goes blank. In order to regain the signal I have to disconnect it from the other pc and then put it back together after a bit. Still outstanding

[s]Next: My SSD is not showing up in the windows explore option. It is seen in the bios, it is seen in the system settings. It is *NOT* being seen when I right click explore to show all the wallas.

regarding your monitor - dunno, probably some setup option in your graphics drivers..

Your SSD - let me guess, it's brand new ? In that case, it doesn't contain any partitions/volumes. Therefore, you cannot see it in Explorer. Instead, rightclick "My Computer" and choose "Manage". Click down under "Disk Management" and you will find a list of your physical drives, as presented to your OS by your hardware. (in case of raidoptions and stuff)

Now, find your SSD in the list, initialize it and create a partition or volume as needed. After formatting this, it will be available in Explorer, with the driveletter you assigned. You can easily change the driveletter, if it messes with any network drives, cardreaders or similar.

Some people might tell you, to just do a "quick-format" - DONT!!!! EVER!!! DO!!! THAT!!! - at least not if you want performance. A quickformat just enables the partition, and gives it the right amount of sectors. It doesn't actually write the sectors on the drive. This is then done later dynamically, when you add data to the drive. So everytime you write to a new part of the partition, it has to format the sectors. And you end up with a drop in performance. Do a full format, and let it take the time it takes.

I guess i was alittle worked up that this stuff wasnt working and it kinda blew by me. I owe you a huge thanks, and If I could hug you irl i would lol. 8o 8o 8o 8o 8o 8o

Plug it into another system if you have one. If you have the monitor issue, it's the monitor or the way you are setting it up. If it goes away, then it is most likely your video card, main board slot, or a defective power plug if your video card needs a four pin molex from the PSU.

    Its slightly strange,

The monitor works, I have to unplug it... let windows undo the extended desktop and plug it back in. When I reboot and what not, I am dual screen all the way till it gets to the windows splash screen and then the 2nd monitor loses signal and isn't regained until I unplug it and plug it back in. Other then that extended desktop works great and looks good. hrm
