I've been out of WoW for several months now, but had previously boxed a 5 man shaman team to 70 and had some good success running instances, and mixed results in PvP. After having played WoW for a couple of years though, it was time for a break. A good break does wonders, and I'm thinking about starting up again with a new team, and have been catching up on these boards for the past few days in preparation.

One of the things I was most intrigued by was the FTL set-up, so I read through the wiki and searched through the forums to get my head around it. I re-activated my main account, got a trial and started experimenting with the set-up today, and I've got it working pretty well. Took some time, but looking through the helpful information here I think I have a handle on it. I do have one question however.

Previously I played with a pretty standard set-up, 2 action bars with 12 buttons on each, the keys mapped to 1 through = and the 2nd row mapped to shift+1 through shift+=. Every character had assist focus macros for their abilities bound to these keys. When I needed to switch I'd just change the leader and make him the focus target for the others. The problem I've encountered with the new set-up is that I can't get any actions on the second bar (shift+1) to work if the shift modifier is used in a hotstring. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and how you were able to get around it? Is there another modifier key besides ctrl, alt and shift that I can use in my hotstrings? If it's not possible to use Shift for my second bar, what are some workable alternatives that wouldn't be too much of a dramatic change?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can provide.
