Default Muliboxing etiquette and Public relations

    Heya fellow multiboxers

I started about a 5 weeks ago with a 3 shammy, druid healer, pally tank team

I have had many negative and rather abusive reactions from random people i meet as i quest.

In a attempt to do damage control and keep good wow public relations, I try to remain polite and explain that I am not
hurting anyone through multiboxing. I even got to the point of writing a macro for these encounters..... -_@

In short it explains that i choose to spend my time playing in this manner, and that it is a isolated from guild/group based progression. That my style of play outside of pvp has no direct impact on their gaming experience. I also remind them that i was minding my own business when all of a sudden someone whispers. yells. or says unkind things with no apparant provocation (other than being a "multiboxer") So who is being disruptive to the flow of wow? -_-

Many people who started off conversations with me with expletives often begrudgingly agree with the points i bring up.
Person by person I am attempting to provide positive interactions as a multiboxer.

As i quest, i go out of my way to not be a mob hog. I often help people as i travel around questing. They wind up appreciating it, and will with some luck, will spread some positive feelings of that encounter into the wow community

So I urge all of you to do the same, so we can play in peace with out people attacking us with no provocation.
More importantly we can help each other insure that we will continue to enjoy Multiboxing with out "official" limitations

Sorry about the grammar! Not one of my strengths.
Hope this is in the right forum.

    Thanks

    True.
It is difficult at times, but we're best off thinking of ourselves as diplomats/representatives of the whole community. Our "enemies" are just waiting for any /s or /t worth writing a ticket against us.

i only reply to genuine questions, or what i believe to be genuine.

all other commenters go on ignore. there is no need to enter into arguments. it probably entertains them more that way anyway.

Yah no arguments from me i assure you. I dont argue with people who have no desire to listen or have discourse.

I give my informational macro and give them a polite G bye

It has never failed that every time I get to the last level 21 elite boss in ghostlands quests (for the nice blue), I get down there to find some poor solo fool trying repeatedly to take him down. And every time so far I have told them to just tag the guy and I burn him down for them. Hope fully this puts a positive light on the use of multiboxing power for "good". And creates one less disgruntled person on the server.

Funny thing is when I hit 70 all the abuse stopped. Now when I meet someone, it's like ohh, your the guy with the warrior and 4 shammies, right? But when I start a new team that I didn't invite to my guild it's back to the same abuse, mind you the abuse comes only from low level player.

People start to like you when you absolutely blast the rogue who has just opened up on them into oblivion!

What happens when you wait till the rogue wins then kill him so they're both dead?
