    Default A/V fights sure seem different now

    I'm alliance and I used to be able to hold a tower with my shammies with out much effort, and occational mage or well placed fear bomb might knock me out.
    But now if thunderstike isn't up i'm toast and I could still be toast if it's a pally with his shield up.
    it's usually a pally/warrior combo that just wipes my team.
    I was on one A/V where we had 10 people gaurding a tower and the same two pally/warior combo could wiped all 10 of us out of it. they did this more than once
    it's not like I have no pvp gear, i'm fairly decked out, it was a very demoralizing A/V. I felt like I was wearing greens or nothing at all.

    AoE seems to rule the roost as bad as when everyone complained about warlocks were too over powered.
    a good mage, warlock and druid can really wreck havoc. the ice mages are wicked for this.

    which now brings me my last point, we used to wait for the towers to be capped and spank out the boss but now the horde never waits for their tower to be capped.
    the horde seems to have no problem taking out out boss with two uncapped towers, they don't seem to care how much fewer points they get for not waiting.

    a question for shaman teams in A/V...
    how is anyone else countering the attacks of the AoE wall ( ice mage + destructo-warlock + druid = pwnage )
    how is anyone else countering the attacks of the pally+warrior combo when trying to hold a tower?
    and is anyone else just blowing the boss up with 2 or 3 towers left to go?

    Do you mean this for last week? Cause ret pallies were nerfed back down a bunch since Tuesday, I don't find them nearly as bad now.

    I actually never had an easier time in AV since i can kill 4-5 meele on me if i choose to drop 4 fire nova totems and blow 5 thunderstorms at once...

    When it comes to the towers i also have thunderstorm on round robin so that i can blow one at the time and easy send people out while i cap it safely. Worth to mention is that im horde and they are easy to defend/attack now with thunderstorm, pre patch 3.0 i had major issues due to LOS in theese towers but now i rock!

    My suggestion would be for you to defend the AV bridge with a few fellows since you can send people flying off and 50% will die from the fall damage.

    Frost mages are VERY weak vs purge so dispelling them is the key here and deal them a thunderstorm each time they get close. If he start aoeing use Lightning shield instead of water shield!

    Tremor totems takes care of the warlock fear and Grounding totems takes care of most of the druids/warlocks spells, and ofc balance druids have a knockback but i dont find it to be muhc of a problem realy...

    Ret paladins and warriors drop 4 fire elemental totems and blow 5 thunderstorms wich kills most but watch out so you dont blow it on the paladins divine shield(Bubble) Or you can drop a earthbind totem and blow a thunderstorm each time they get back into meele range but you should get a LB or a CL off before they get back to you. Worth to mention is that warriors get immune to stun and knockback when they use Bladestorm (51 point talent in arms)

    I actually hope rogues stay multilate because a well geared rogue showed me the power of Shadow dance and killed 2 of my slaves in a matter of seconds, Okey im fairly outgeard but still it was quite sick!

    My buddie Cat just feels the pain of us getting owned last night in AV. We NORMALLY do fine. As he stated, we had back to back games where the horde killed our boss before all the bunkers were capped. But it was just bad timing/luck on our part. Palies only kill me when they catch me off guard. They are definitely easier to kill now then pre-nerf. I went in AV last night after an hour of getting whooped and won by anticipating them doing the same thing. I just played D from the start.

    Another option for you.

    If you used to excel at one aspect of the game (tower defense), but due to changes which you have no control over... are having difficulty there...
    Change your tactics.

    Maybe rush to a graveyard and cap that early.
    Or play a couple games where you're on defense, stay out of the thick of combat, but absolutely litter the bridge with totems and spam chain heal with your team each targeting a different primary defender who is also on the bridge.

    There are different things required to winning an AV.
    Towers are one, but that's not the only thing needed.
    Pick something else -- maybe control of a choke point, and contribute there instead.

    to be honest i used to play defense... but then to rely on horde offense was like watching paint dry before the wind started blowing the dirt around..... bad analogy?

    Now all i do is rush Aid Station from the start.. cap it... hold it while the ones who follow me get north and south towers. After this is done the game is over cause the horde see us up there and swarm and Vann goes down with 2 marshalls still up.
