from what i've seen, if you're not using SLI/crossfire, then there's not really a huge point in upgrading to the i7, at least as far as gaming is concerned. though for some -like me - this means it might finally actually be worth it to upgrade to SLI :P[/quote]The reason why I changed from QX9770 to Core i7 965 EE is the simple fact that it is a system very suited for heavy multitasking, like multiboxing I run P6T Deluxe with 2 pcs 4870X2. As a big bonuz the X58 platform offers a much better support for a big system meory buffer. 12GB (with twice the bandwidth compared to my old 8GB on X48) with absolutly no instability issues. Most X58 boards (like P6T) has native SAS raid support which in an upgrade on my radar atm. Two 146GB 15k rpm dics would defenetly be a big upgrade compared to my raid 0 7200rpm discs i use atm. The reason why I didnt go for SAS raid 0 right away is the fact that 12GB system buffer is a lot (even for multiboxing 10).
