    Default FPS drop since 3.0.3

Since patch 3.0.3 hit I have dramatic drop in FPS.

    My Setup :
    Vista 64b
    Q6600
    8Gig memory
    8800GT
    1st screen @ 1280*1024 (one client)
    2nd screen @ 1680*1050 (four clients)

I had my followers on the second screen running with maxfps on 30 running good. Settings on LOW since 3.0.2. And my Main was running on fairly high settings. I had no trouble getting 60, 30, 30, 30, 30 FPS.

Now on a single client started with maximizer on the 1st screen and fairly high settings I get 15 FPS. When I drag the screen interface slider all the way down I get an unstable 35-42 FPS.

I cant find any information on this specifically to 3.0.3. Only for 3.0.2 but mainly talking about the new shading system but this wasnt a problem for my setup. I only have these problems since 3.0.3.

Anyone noticed the same? Or has any tips on what to do here?

The slowdown is mainly due to processor usage on the client that went through the roof. I dont think it is the GFX card. What might be the thing that is killing my CPU and how can I solve this.

If there is an already known thread somewhere please point me to this.

    Thanks!

edit: I do use profiling, so I have main on core 2, alt 1 and 2 on core 3 and alt 3 and 4 on core 4. Is this something I should change since the new patch?

    edit2: Just found this : http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...476842&sid=1#0

Could this be my problem? Would this be my fix? Sorry I can't test now since Im at work.

I literally have the exact same setup as you and am having FPS issues as well. My issues do not seem to be CPU related because I am overclocked to 3.4ghz and my cpu with 5 clients only hits 100% on logging in. Even in shatt my cores rarely go over 80%. I'm starting to believe that an 8800gt is not capable of handling 5 boxing anymore and that a bigger gpu is needed.

i started having more fps lag in shatt as of 3.0.3 and i have a gtx 280. my memory is getting maxed out (i have 6 GB ) so i'm getting another 2 gb today to see if that helps.

Your memory shouldn't be getting maxed at 6gb of memory unless you are running a ton of things besides wow. I think the biggest my clients get to is 650mb which would be about 3.2gigs used by wow which means your OS + other Software are using 2.8gb. You might want to virus scan and spyware scan your computer. I can't imagine the issue is video related for you when you are using one of the best cards made to date.

Strange you dont have 100% in game, how do you have CPU affinity set? And what FPS are you getting on what resolutions at what settings?

I did notice there is a big change to how far you can see on lowest setting, and if i push it a bit higher CPU-usage goes up hard. Do might have to do with how far I can see by default?

That's because i'm overclocked by 1ghz. So I guess I cant say our setup is identical. My affinity is currently set at 3 for main and 14 for all 4 drones. In Shatt I am getting 15 to 20 fps on the main client. Outside of shatt I am getting between 20 and 35fps. I don't pay attention to the drones but I have their maxbgfps set at 10. I run all toons on one monitor at 1680x1050.

I'm having issues as well since 3.0.3 came out. I don't know whats causing it but at times both of my screens go to 5 FPS and I have to do a "/console reloadui" on both clients to fix it. The CPU (4-core) goes from 35% average to almost 90% load when it happens.
