Default Okay A few questions from a newbie dualie

This is the keyboard I have...

I am curious how to bind the G-keys on the left of the keyboards. I noticed that in one of the explanations he brings in a separate keypad he hooks up and I wanted to see how to do it w/ this keyboard set up. I'm trying to get everything set up to run a shaman/boomkin during expansion pack. I've been using AHK and it's pretty cool, just getting used to the whole thing and I'm going to have to start setting up all the different questing/looting/skinning/etc keys, but i'm curious about making everything work. Any help would be great.

if anything i was going to use all the other stickies to get the rest of my macros, but i'm curious about setting up a dual boxing situation w/ the keyboard, becasue i noticed that i use a lot of different keys for both --- i.e. gotw/other buffs w/ my druid and stuff like that, also I dont need to drop totems on my druid so i usually try to have her spam wrath whiel i'm dropping totems/etc. any help would be awesome, thanks.

ok so i dont know how to set it up in AHK but i do know that if you havent done it already you will need to open the logitech software and go to

    settings->profiler->profile

then check the enable persistent profile checkbox. ive not been able to get it to work with multiple clients without doing this. maybe someone else can post about AHK.

the reason i ask, is because i can't bind the keys in wow, so the only way i can do it now is use thier logitech software that came w/ the keyboard just curious, there must be another way.

My god thats a sexy keyboard. Where did you get it? I have a ZBoard - it looks good but i never use the left half of it- too inconvenient.

The original Logitech G-15 - Beauty. Try the Logitech website, although they dont make the model with 18keys & a screen anymore (the one with the screen now only comes with 6)

I maybe off here, but this is what I do..
I would start by getting an action bar mod. There's a few that people recommend on here Bartender being one, but Bartender has become Dominos which is what I use.

    http://www.wowinterface.com/download...5-Dominos.html

The beauty is this makes keybindings very simple. Once you have the action bars configured a simple shift left click of the dominos addon takes you into key bindings... from there you can Shift-Control your way to a brighter future. Once thats done it's a simple case of configuring the keys press the MR Key, Select an M Key, Set your key stroke and hit MR again.

If there's a way of creating keybindings in the way you're talking off I've yet to find it.

The Logitech G11, is the same as the original G15, except you do not have the LCD screen.
The new G15 is three banks of six macro's, instead of three banks of eighteen macro's.

As far as setting your macro's, once you have a persistent profile,
    you have a couple of choices. You can either use the keys as "assign keystrokes";
or you can actually create macro's (either quick macro's in game) or via the macro
    manager software.

The assign keystroke is basically using an existing warcraft macro, which is on a bar somewhere.
The bar has an obscure keybind which you'll probably never accidently click.
It's pretty simple to click the G1 key for say use the mount up macro.
The G1 key will press your Shift + Alt + Control + M key.
Unlikely to be accidently pressed in wow, but pretty simple to mount up with, just remember G1 = Mount.
    Or whatever you set.

If you're using the macro manager or quick macro function, you can create complex macro's with a little thought. The important thing to remember however is that you should limit yourself to macro's you can create in warcraft.
Don't create a macro with a pause, or with more then one wow action per G press.
It's fine for your G key to press multiple keys.. for example... "/cast Fireball<enter>" is 15 keypresses.
But you're not actually doing anything with the G-keys which you could not easily do in warcraft.
Similarly a castsequence is fine, where click one is spell 1, click 2 is spell 2.. because you can do this in wow.
Don't go and make a macro like this.... Curse of the Elements, Pause 2 seconds, Corruption, Pause 2 seconds, Immolate etc... because you could not do this type of thing in wow, and it will eventually get you banned. Maybe not for a year, but when a GM notices what you're doing, it will happen guaranteed.

Oh okay, I think i understand a little better now.

The reason I ask is because I wanted to use it to control my slaves. I like having my master set up the normal way I have it when I'm just soloing, but I want to dual box an ele sham/boomkin during expansion so I dont have to do 2 separate leveling things. Makes sense though so i basically set up my macros in wow so say

    alt-shift x =
    /focus toon1
    /assist toon1
    /castsequence Moonfire, Insect Swarm

    alt-shift y =
    /focus toon1
    /assist toon1
    /cast wrath(Rank 10)

    alt-shift z =
    /focus toon1
    /assist toon1
    /cast starfire(rank10)

and then just create the macros on my G keys to do those things and set it up, so that I can just do a key rotation of G1 G2 G3, to get in my spell rotations the way I want them? And then I wouldn't have to worry about it sending the keys to my master frame?

is this possible w/ using AHK or do I have to get a different key mapping software? Or do I need to use it at all? Will it just send the macro to both instances of wow that are open or only the one I have selected?
