Default Aelli - How do you have your movement set up?

Before anything, I have to say that I just recently ran across the videos of Aelli's 4-5 boxing videos on YouTube. They were quite inspiring, especially since you managed to do so well with 4 shammys, which is my current setup.

One thing I noticed is that you have a very nice movement setup, most noticibly in your video for the raid against Vashj (sp?).

How do you handle it? Right now, WASD is my main toon, and the others are set to follow. Obviously, but when I need them to move, pressing the up arrow makes 2 of toons run to either side, making a 3-character line with me in front. Then, I made Z and C make the slave toons strafe. However, this setup feels like it could be more efficient, and your seems to work well.

    Thanks!

Oh, also. Do you have any tips for PvP? Im 25 and fooling around a little. I figured you might have a few major tips so that I don't feel like choking myself when a mage runs in and AoEs all of my toons.

You want to be able to turn your slaves around so you can follow a horde while casting a spell. So bind the movement keys for the slaves only on 4 other keys. Some use Shift + WASD for example.

    shift+wasd is buggy however.

Suppose you lift the shift key before the wasd keys for moving, your alts will continue to move without stopping.

As for Ellay, I think he got the Nostromo Pad N52TE and turns his slaves with the arrowpad on that. That's the way I do it anyhow and it works like a charm. It's within thumbs reach and can use it quickly.

Also, as for tips, Ellay isn't the only multiboxer who post informative posts on this forum, search the forums and I'm sure you can find a lot of uefulness. :P

I bounded spells to shift + Q and Shift + E. That caused enough problems allready for me. So i couldn't play with it either.

I play with a nostromo n52 controlling my second character which broadcasts to 3 & 4, it makes turning my followers very smooth while my main can do a different action. It's about the only benefit compared to the common way of broadcasting from your main.
I would suggest using the arrow keys to perform just like WASD just unbind them from your main, and use different keys for spreading out and see how that goes.

Wait, you control your three followers seperatly from your main? Oo Or you just have your N52 arrowpad bound to your three followers? (That's what I do, but what you said seems a bit confusing, I doubt you are playing with three hands. :P )

It's completely separate, I'm thinking about taking the approach your setup has, if the main dies though - how do you handle it?
Actually how many pc's are you running?

    Well, I don't have a 'physical' main.

It's a bit complicated but the following should be understandable if you are familiar with the leaderless concept. I just took a twist to it.

Basicly, when I press Left Arrow or Right Arrow on a toon, it sends two other keys to the other chars. With the same keymapping on the others. So when I swap leaders, it always turns the three then current alts. I basicly got a bit of an advanced FTL set up that includes all my movement and position keys. So I can get away with using just my NT52E for just about all my needs with the ability to instantly change leaders by just moving to another screen. Very fun to upset people in arena during fights too. But also allows me for instant reaction to swap leaders in the case my leader does die. Which shouldn't happen, but when it does, it doesn't neccesarily mean a loss this way. All the while keeping my alt rotation keys in working order.

1PC by the way, or a laptop. I've used both with other programs but I found one pc is better (and easier to manage) for PvP and such set ups. :P

I'm currently brainstorming on setting up an FTL system the way I want it across two pc's however, but have been running into some problems. It's a project at the moment. ;(

keep in mind, shift + wasd is buggy in keyclone, although many people on this forum tend to forget that dual-boxing != keyclone. keyclone not having an option at least to always pass upstrokes is prolly the biggest lacking feature.

It didn't work for me in autohotkey either when I used it, granted my AHK script wasn't among the best out there. xP

Fact remains keyclone is easy to set up and tbh, during PvP when I'm pretty busy mashing modifier keys, modifying wasd to turn my alts wouldn't work anyhow. I don't want to limit myself to either turning or either casting. Both at the same time is better, hence the N52TE is pretty awesome for PvP with the thumb keypad and gives total control without having to move your hand. In combination with a solid FTL set up it almost feels like you're just playing one char, so smooth.
