    Default Shaman/Priest team

Should the Shaman be Elemental or Enhance? I'm thinking Elemental just for double-ranged but Enhance is generally faster solo.

    Either works in this combo.

Do you prefer, casters or melee?

What spec is your priest going to be ? is it just going to be a healbot or more dps?

    Gimp Team: 4 paladins(13) and a DK(80)

Well, I prefer melee when soloing, but I prefer to have my classes be doing the same role. I tried Rogue/Druid the other day and 1-20 was a bitch due to the druid not having melee. Shaman/Priest just seems much simpler for me if they're both casters.

The priest is going to be DPS as well.

seems to me the priest is the weak link. he will be the easiest to kill and in instance runs he will be a problem.

i'm guessing you are picking the priest to heal, since there are better ranged dps. but the shaman won't be able to protect the priest the way a tank does. so your clothe wearing priest is going to have a hard time staying alive. since there is no way to keep the distance between the bad guys and your t-shirt wearing holy man. priest with 4x locks works because of the locks pets.

i would recommend going the other direction and pick either a pally or a druid. both are very difficult to kill and can self heal, giving your 4x elemental shammies time to dps the bad guys. plus they have some nice buffs to support your shaman.

it goes to game dynamics. ranged toons work best when they are attacking at long range and not in melee range. since there is nothing to stop mobs from closing that range your priest will always take the most damage and will die the easiest, and since he is there to heal the others he won't be able to do his done because he will be healing himself.

5 shaman work because they all wear mail and have shields, giving them 10k+ armor(with epics, bg or arena gear)

pally/4x shaman works because they all can heal, the pally can tank, allowing you to nuke the mobs, and heal the pally.

druid/ 4x shaman works because you can go bear form to tank, boomkin to dps, or tree to heal. this combo give nice flexibility to your group, because you are not stuck with 1 melee 4 ranged group. can easily be turned into 5 ranged for quick kills and keep your group moving.

enchance is easier to level because there is very little elemental gear available outside of the outlands. but if you use RAF you will be leveling too quickly to be concerned with that.
