Default New Multi-Boxer - Pls Review Hardware Build

Thanks for taking the time to look at the build sheet for my new PC. I have been dual-boxing for a while on my current PC with relative ease, but I've been having performance issues since the 3.0.2 patch and decided that it was time to upgrade. The PC that is broken down below will be primarily for WoW--with most other tasks sourced out to a laptop.
    • Antec P182 Case
    • 1000W Antec PS
    • DVD Burner
    • Asus P5E Deluxe X48 775 Mobo
    • Intel Q9550 2.83 Core 2 Quad
    • CPU Cooler
    • 8G Corsair RAM
    • 60G SSD Drive (for WoW)
    • 160G SATA Drive (for storage)
    • 2x Asus Radeon 4850 512M Crossfire ready video cards
    • Win XP Pro 64bit
Is there anything that anyone would recommend doing differently? I plan on running 5 accounts on this PC, and I'm pushing everything to a 30" monitor.

    TIA!

Thanks Kaynin! I started to doubt myself when talking to a friend this morning and he was doing nothing but slamming the XP 64-bit pick. It made me a little wary about going back to XP when I've been running Vista on my current machine. I kept getting told "it's too hard to get drivers, the OS is no longer supported, etc" which made me wonder if I was doing the right thing. I've been lurking here for a little bit seeing what picks people were making for OSes, and the XP bit was recommended to me by a multiboxer at a local computer store, so I figured he couldn't be wrong. Glad to hear I'm on the right path! I can't wait to start building this machine tomorrow! I just need to finish the final RAF team so I can get started on my 5-man Hunter team!

Thanks again for the review

64 bit Vista is fantastic as far as im concerned. I've never had trouble getting drivers. And i never heard it wasn't supported anywhere. Just put SP1 with it as soon as it's installed, and you are set. Welcome to Multiboxing... That PC will be sweet.

Babba, I guess I should have clarified--I was told that the XP 64bit OS vendors weren't supporting with updates and stuff, but the case appears to be otherwise ^^

You'll be fine with this build. Don't worry about what your friend says... most of the pro gamers I know are still on XP boxes.

There's really no reason you need to switch to Vista... don't drink the Microsoft Kool-Aid.

if you'rerunning two videocards, you might run into some problems. check out some of the threads here on dual monitors/videocards. some folks have been having problems.
Interesting...I've gone with 2 video cards to push the needed video RAM to the clients--I'll only be running 1 monitor with them. Time for me to do some queries on the possible video card issues.

    Thanks for the heads up!
